I maxed out all settings and it outputs at 2048x2048. I think the main problem is the way the program defines the eyes on the mesh which then do not match with texture so well.

Yep... I just took a close look at the mesh output from this program after altering some heads... I changed the eyes as much as I could within the program but the mesh output doesn't appear very different between them as far as the eyes goes, so it's definitely a discrepency between "what you see" and "what you get," you're absolutely right.

Bummer... I guess we'll all have to resort to the commercial programs for accuracy for sure. Not a huge surprise, but a drag nevertheless.:(

Oh well... maybe next week there will be another freeware head modeler, if so... I think I'll let somebody else post the good news! Hahahaha!;)

Onward we go...

Can't the model be modified? Seems like a good start, cut out the eyes, put spheres in there, open up the sockets etc

Not sure whether you were asking everybody or Splinters, but sure... it's still a whole lot easier to modify the mesh and UV than it is to start from scratch.

In Splinters case he had prior experience with Genhead which appears to do it all in one go flawlessly though, so this kind of output is a whole lot less than what he was used to or expected.

The results with this program aren't all that difficult to modify as far as the mesh goes, but getting the UV right is pretty difficult in my experience, especially since this particular program created the UV mapped texture from just two viewpoints, one front and one side, but it is do-able.

It's still a timesaver and the price is great!

Has truespace 6.5 and creature creator 1.6 for $40 each too.

Looks dodgy or am I overlooking a bargain...
