Burned out? Understandable. Sometimes you just have to drop everything and walk away, and clear your mind. Now would be a good time for a nice long walk if it's sunny outside. It's sunny here; heck, I'm gonna head to the beach I think (20 minutes away!) later today and do some stone cold chillin. Maybe do some surf fishin.
Hang in there!

Dude! I lived in AR from age 7 to 25! GO HOGS!
I lived in Hot Springs AR. Where are you located? Heck maybe you need a road trip to Fayetteville (University of Arkansas! Haha! Yeah man!). The summers there are great. Only a few folks around; you own the town! Especially around dusk; when I was in grad school I would ride my bike from the house to the old downtown area; down Dixon street, etc. No cars, really quiet. Man that takes me back.
In Hot Springs in summertime we'd go to Lake Hamilton (good lake), and Lake Ouachita (EXCELLENT lake! COLD CLEAR water! No development! Just nature!). Awesome skiing. Nice bikinis too! :D

Even a lake, country road, park, etc do wonders for your peace of mind. Try going for a bike ride. Even watching a good movie lets you escape for a while.
I found since getting my digital camera that it gives me an excuse to go for a walk and take pictures for drawing references. Hey, it works for me! :-) |

Two things I would do to help your spirits:
1) Bull Shoals Lake (Large Mouth Bass and a cooler of Beer)
2) watch this video

Both will make you smile! |

say, Bull Shoals lake reminds me... one time in the summer some friends I worked with took me fishing IN a river, for catfish. We walked up and down IN the river (not the riverbank), catching fish. I never did that before. That was the coolest thing, literally!
I may have to plan a roadtrip now...
Jayr:
Yeah, it was as close to paradise as I have ever gotten. :-D

I haven't been to Hot Springs in years, but my folks still live there.
Say, have fun in Hot Springs and hit the lakes if you can!

Chuckle! If you chill out for long enough global warming might just take care of that for you!!
Sympathies over your burn out - I know what that feels like. It's really important to take care of yourself and ensure that you feed the soul regularly. I recommend indulging in some solitude (soulitude) and taking some time out for yourself. Mother Nature, a good walk in the sunshine, a good book.
One of the best things about just dropping out for a while is that the world seems to carry on fine regardless - so treat yourself to a break, take a few "mental health days".
One of the very best remedies for burnout - do something that you've never done before but have often wondered about - try bungee jumping or visiting a nudist resort or taking in an opera - anything that you've never done before works because it changes how you see yourself and your world.
Hope this helps |

Sorry to hear you are burnt out but I can empathise with you. Beta testing and icon work on top of my real job got the best of me a few months ago. I hadn't turned out any artwork that wasn't test based or ts7.5 UI for months and it all got a bit too much.
So, I did what you are doing and took a break, now I feel refreshed and inspired again and I am working on some personal projects which might evolve a bit faster once I get this garden finished...:D
You'll be fine...just do something else for a while...:D |

Dali, melting watches, ClothMotion. Just needs a goat and a pair of lobsters now for a confident prediction of Surrealism being resurrected

Cool, "persistance of memory," by Dali...one of my favs, of course:P Thank you all so much for your wonderful words of encouragement. I'm CERTAINLY feeling better already just hearing from all of you! I will spend more time in nature and try something new. The nudist colony sounds great, but with hormones like mine, I'd be a sun dial for everyone on the beach:| Hmmm, maybe a little self-indulgence wouldn't hurt:P...thanx again to everyone! |

LOL - now there's a visual image I didn't need! You've clearly never been to a real nudist resort or free beach because there's nothing sexy about them at all - ordinary people are odinary people - naked or not!
Unless you are incredibly lucky enough to be there the day that Angelina Jolie visits of course..... (now THERES a visual image for you!).
Seriously though, a little self indulgence is vital for the soul - you can't fill anyone elses cup if your own cup is empty! Take care of yourself. |

Have a nice break and enjoy life.
