Wow, this sample animation was created quickly. Then the BVH file was exported. Then the BVH file imported in to Truespace 7.5 and applied to a character. There is nothing on the planet that comes close to endorphin. Big studios use it to create EXTREMELY complex motions instantly. I am having a ball with it. Just blown away. Learning edition is free (cant export bvh in learning edition). Lots of movie tutorials etc. Here is a sample animation

Here you can get ENDORPHIN learning edition free and many tutorials.

Hi J,
TrueSpace is very close or maybee even better for these kind of animations.
True Endorphin is a nice program, but to use the motion you make with it requires a license, The full license is around $10,000 dollars.
Contrary to your belief, that sample animation was not created in 5 minutes or instantly.

For 1000.00 dollars USD you can get the student version :)
1100.00 you can rent it...
and a mere 10K you can own it.
A very nice program, also take a look at MotionBuilder, it does not have the physics like endorphin but it is another top notch program.
I have a feeling that Caligari has Endorphin and MotionBuilder in their sites and is planning how to incorporate more of their flow into TS.
Lots of really fun toys on the market for character animation.

too bad about the cost of ENDORPHIN. I have been doing some incredible things with the free learning edition but it does not matter because who is going to pay $10,000 for the full version unless they have a big budget. I do so hope that this Dynamic Motion Synthesis technology that ENDORPHIN uses will become available someday in cheaper programs. I tried a demo of motion builder but seems pretty complex. Will try it some more. It does lack Dynamic Motion Synthesis of course. |

Frankly, if you have TS7.51, you have a decent start on doing many of those things. I had a chance to play with the full version of Endorphin last summer for a couple of months, TS is not there yet, but it is only 500.00 for the full version :)

Rich!
I have the feeling that Truespace will have some of the functionality
that Endorphine has "faster" then improving some of its workflow.
And I am talking about such basics like simple light settings in workspace.

I sure hope that Caligari continues on this path with incorporating
capabilities similar to Endorphin and MB into TS, so us mere mortals
can have these tools. It's fabulous, and badly needed.
I'm glad to know that TS does it faster and easier. I don't expect it
to have all the "professional" aura of the more expensive programs,
but as long as it basically fills the need, I'll be happy. |

Hi All, I originally brought up this ENDORPHIN subject thread not as recommending it as a replacement or alternative to Truespace 7.5 but as a tool to create awesome BVH animations that can be easily imported in to Truespace 7.5. If you go to youtube.com and type in endorphin you will see over 1000 stunning animation videos created with ENDORPHIN. Most all were created with the free version that is available. Point is all the ENDORPHIN animations can be easily exported as BVH files and used for your Truespace characters. I will be buying the student version which I know is costly but Iam so hooked on it that I want to use it with Truepace. So just to clarify that this is just a tool to be used with Truespace NOT as an alternative 3d animation program. Truespace is the best at what it does in my opinion. |
