I caught a bit of this on my local Public Television pledge drive... with all the musically and 3D inclined folks around here I thought I'd pass along this link:
http://www.animusic.com/
Rock on, robots, rock on.
YouTube also has some (probably) bootleg clips if you wish to search them out.
Support the artists and buy the DVD if you are interested, however. |

Interesting. Thanks Spacekdet. I could totally see scripted robots doing this in truePlay in the future. If we get the ability to import midi files, it should be possible to script robots to animate according to the midi file. |

I have these somewhere and the concepts, modelling, animation and syncing is very impressive. The music however - wow, it sure does drive you nuts after a bit! Give it a couple of minutes then switch your speakers off, the enjoyment has increased longevity that way! :) |

Cool, thanks!
I found this site some months ago but then lost the link, so I have at last been able to add it to my favourites.
There were some recent entries to the TS animation gallery that were along a similar line as I recall, albeit not quite this polished.
Great fun and quite inspiring, although you won't catch me animating any time soon...!
NB - WWotW - as a musician (albeit not a 'writer'), I'd be quite curious to hear what your own music is like; I've visited your website but that section appears to still be under construction - when are you likely to have some clips available that people can check out? |

The Industrial stuff can be sampled at www.the-sepia.co.uk. Coming very soon will be the sound track stuff I've been working on which is very ambient/orchestral based. I'll try to remember to let you know when it's ready. |

Thanks!
Had a listen to the sample clips from the Splintered album - whilst not my normal 'cup of tea', I did find them interesting. I guess I'm an 'analogue' man in as much as I mostly play guitar/bass and drums (acoustic) and have never really got into 'programming' and synthesising music - but it's something I find quite fascinating, although I wouldn't know where to start...
I could see that it could fit well in some soundtrack situations though.
Thanks again for the link. |
