hi classic. I am interested in this too. You can download a demo of realm crafter at their site:

http://www.realmcrafter.com/Download.php

Unfortunately the demo is very limited and you wont be able to do much with it, but you can check it out. From a brief look at it it does seem like it may be easy to use. It imports directx models which is good. From what I gather if you use the included content you can build a game very quickly and easily. If you want to use your own content the length of time and difficulty depends on what you wish to achieve. You have to build and animate the models and import them.

I think this looks like a very good program. I am trying to find out more too.

hehehe, if i had the money i'd jump right in on it too. I assume you got the gamepak. You probably have to run an installer. I'm sure someone knows.

good news and bad news:

http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=3924

looks like there will be a slight wait. In the meantime you can export directx models from truespace on the model side and import them to realm crafter.

Hi all,

Note that nothing new will appear in tS7.5 with gamePak in there - you will find new plugins installed that you can load up in the Model side, and you will also find new export options when you do a Save As from the Model side (as these formats are the majority of what gamePak is all about).

Realm Crafter is its own installation that you will need to download from the Solstar Games site. You use trueSpace to make 3D assets / content, which you then export from tS and load into Realm Crafter. Realm Crafter is where you make your game (layout the world, add in enemies, create behaviors, write your story, etc).

I haven't really gotten into the 3D game authoring scene myself, but I do frequent 3DTotal.com and they recently had a link to the free Softimage|XSI Mod Tool.

http://www.softimage.com/products/modtool/

Perhaps it's limited to exporting for specific engines but maybe it could supplement what you do in trueSpace.

if you click on the link on the caligari offer page it take you to caligaris shoping basket where you buy gamepak and realmcrafter for $189 (download) seen as realmcreator is $100 on it's site (as you pointed out) and the gamepak is $199 it's a good discount.

thats just nuts! how can they not send you the download link. get in touch with caligari customer services and try contacting the makers of realmcrafter too, looks like this is their address: support@realmcrafter.com

An email gets sent out when you purhcase describing how to register and download with Solstar Games. You dont go to the general website though, you won't find what you need there.

Sounds like your spam / junk mail filter has blocked our email sent out when you purchased, I would check your settings and ensure all mails from caligari.com are allowed through, check auto deleted / quarantined / spam folder mail and see if our email is in there.

Naturally we wouldn't leave users wondering how to get their product :)

If you can't find the mail any place, then just email customer support, but again be sure to check your filters in case things get blocked (the mail on purchase is most likely to be blocked since it is an automatically generated email by a computer system, so you are less likely to have problems with mails from Caligari staff, but better safe than sorry!).

Sorry for any inconvenience caused, and I am sure it will be resolved soon!

Thanks!

Tom

no problem its just that where we got the email the account literally has like 50000 mssgs per day sent to it so if something slips past we probabbly didnt notice it.. will have a good look.

-thanks-
