Hi folks,

I just spotted a strange new ~FREE~ 3D Modeling Program online called "Topmod" which bills itself as a Topological Modeler.

I had a look at their wikki, galleries, videos, etcetera, and although this program has major limits for 3D Modeling it also has some extremely unique capabilities which some of you may find worthy of exploration.

One nice thing, it loads OBJ and saves OBJ and also saves STL. How well it implements STL output is a complete unknown to me, but it's always nice to see Developers adding STL output as a default.

The program is buggy and crashes occasionally so don't say I didn't warn you.:)

Here's the main page link:

http://www.topmod3d.org/?p=1 (http://www.topmod3d.org/?p=1)

Hope you find it useful, and hey... if you do, post some images here, OK?

Enjoy,

As you can see here it does make some pretty complex

shapes very fast(Vray render in TS7.51).I like this software very much.

its a little crashy but when it works it works awsome....:)

Here are two more examples of what this nice

application can do if you combine it with

modeling in Truespace

These are great, and that last one is fantastic!!!:D

Thanks for sharing these and please don't stop!!!

Glad you like the program, and after seeing your success with it I'm inspired to give it more attention as soon as I possibly can myself!

Well done!

3D Vis !

Thank you very much !

I have something that you will like very much

for your immersive spaces !

Construction rigs like this one just need the

press of two buttons.

you can import any form from truespace if you like

and make a construction rig out of it.

This is a screenshot to show the good quality it

would show in realtime.the basic form was constructed in

mois 3d in about 40 seconds ... imported into topmod

and transfered into rods in about 40 more seconds !

So one can build realy fast !

Wow!

I'm really glad I spotted this cool little freebie tool, you're making it look mighty appealing already!:)

As I look at this latest one in Workspace realtime view I remember a few times as a kid the neighborhood guys and I would occasionally build go-karts with framing that looked a lot like what you have there... say, maybe you could whip up a vehicle frame or two and we could attach wheels and script it to actually be ride-able by avatars in shared space.

Seriously, I know we could do it now, we just need some way-out frame styles to motivate a few Scriptors here and we'd probably have a new "shared space vehicle design and races" project going in no time flat!:D

Keep those renders coming - they're great!!!

Thanks!

Well I will give that a try some time next week...

These are just a few of the capabilities of this software.

You could actually call it a super - plug to Ts .... as it is not a full

fledged modeler. It ads to the mighty possibilities we already have !:)
