Hi all,
Over on Kerythea's web site there is a poll going on for favorite modeling software. Why not let the world know what you think and cast your vote for tS? :)
The poll is on the bottom right of this page:
http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/index.php
Thanks!

You had my vote there any way ... the way I introduce people to Kerythea
here (like some weeks ago..) I do the same thing with Caligari in the
other forums (like in the Mois3d forum ).Yes Truespace should open
much more to the other communities !:D
Just please vote for TS !

I lied and voted for trueSpace. It's my favorite 3D program but not my favorite modeler. Silo2 is better for modeling, just ask anyone that has used both.
If I didn't say this here it would mean trueSpace is best at what it does. It's improving but that is not enough in todays world. |

Yes but there is something special about it that makes us come to this community over and over again. I work with Silo too since 1.1
and love to use it and I love to use Moi 3d even more but there is
something special about the people here that let me make my vote
without any question..... but you are right we should not get tired to put up the wishes in the direction of improvement
over and over again "let alone the maya style navigation" Silo has ... that I
have always wanted(and got for workspace thanks to our friend).

My vote is in. (2.4% right now). What I don't get is the number of Sketch-up votes. I just can't get that fired up over it.
I have to say that TrueSpace is my favorite app. I am also fortunate to have Silo 2 and 3DS MAX. Each are strong in their own ways.
Even with the other two apps, I can't recal a project where TS hasn't been a major tool. A great platform and getting better.
Now "git" over there and vote!:) |

My vote's in.
Truespace is holding up pretty well against the other commercial apps. I think since Kerkythea's open source it's not surprising that Blender would be popular, however I'm staggered by the number of sketchup votes. |

Just to correct this ... Kerkythea is free but is not open source.
The reason why Sketchup is in the lead is because it has the deapest integration. With the exporter Kerkythea is almost built into Sketchup.
Something Jack is trying to achieve for Truespace workspace side.
Sketchup is very good at what it does and is very popular even more
after Google got its hands on it.
Here is the link where Jack proposed to make the exporter and the integration.
http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=3960
This will be a fabulous add on. If you go to the Kerkythea site
for the vote.... do yourself a favour and look into the site for a while .
Its a very high standard there and you can learn a great deal about
renderers!

Just planning to call it KT Exporter....
I've had to put it on the back burner for a few weeks though. I think you guys will also like my other project, but can't give any information on it yet. ;)
I'll start a thread for the Kerkythea exporter soon as I can get some time put enough work in to have something to show for it. If I can implement it the way I plan, I think it'll be a very nice add on for TS. It may need TS 7.6 to work though, in which case I'll try and have a working version to be available around the time 7.6 ships. Of course, having no idea when that'll be, makes it hard for me to plan. ;)

From the Kerkythea about page:
Reaching now the 3rd year of development and gaining popularity, I want to believe that KT can now be considered among the top freeware/open source renderer engines and can be used for both academic and commercial purposes.
That's what got me confused. Still, freeware is next best thing. It really looks like it's developing faster than many open-source apps anyway.
Sketchup never looked that great to me, but I might have to check it out and see what the fuss is about. |

Voting done the count for TS is 3.8% currently. |

If you download the trial (time limited) version of Sketchup PRO be sure
to get to look at those very well made videos too.
If you just get the software and poke around in it a little... your going to be
dissapointed. But if you know how to use it from the videos first (about 20 of them ) you will realise how mighty it can be.;)

Sketch Up is a brilliant example of a tightly-focused app that has always kept things simple. Just as trueSpace was the first 3D app that made me feel in control, Sketch Up was the first* arch/cad tool that didn't leave me scratching my head.
(Alright, technically it was Archicad..) |

Yup ... thats the most important aspect of it ... thats why I love
moi3d that much. Its the same thing for nurbs.
i´d love Ts to go that direction too !
