procedural physics not recording?

procedural physics not recording? // Roundtable

Hello, Wondering if anyone has experienced this. I have recorded procedural physics before with no problems. I do know how successfully do it. However now when I try creating a procedural clip nothing is recorded. All is done as always before. Here are the test steps.


1. example create an object, raise it up and give it physical properties (tire).

2. create a track and edit in the anim track and add procedural clip, right click on it then click generate keyframes....

3. nothing happens.


the object does have physics because when I run the physics start/stop button it falls to the ground.


I even turned on the SAVE ANIMATION to see if that would get the procedural clip to create and save the physics. Nothing works.


Any help would be appreciated.


p.s. also tried rebooting computer and generating a new workspace. Still no results.

Hi jhowell. I did this exactly as you specified; It worked correctly here.

That's strange.

Check the LE to make sure you have a phys space and phys engine in there.

check to make sure the track is not disabled. If it is disabled the clip will look kinda grayish,
and there is a check box by Disable when you right click the track name.
In addition, this would allow physics sim to play the phys, but you could not play the track.

Thanks for your quick reply! I triple checked all you mention and still can not create procedure physic keyframes. I guess I could try reinstalling. This sure is weird.

Hi, I just REINSTALLED Truespace and NOW my procedural generate key frames is working. Wow, that was strange. If anybody else has this problem keep in mind reinstalling will correct it. I just hope it does not happen too often. :)
