Vue esprit is going for £51.00 right now. any one used this with truespace? how easy is it to get them to work together? Can you export terrain and ibjects like trees out to truepace from it?

Drop W!zard a line if he doesn't drop by soon - I know he uses it to produce background mattes and environments to use with the shadow-catcher tool, to great effect, but not sue whether he imports/exports objects etc.

I use Vue 6 inf . a lot and if you have read my post to the 69 post to

the captain ..... I can tell you if you have TS6.6 or lower you can be very lucky. The cobs that it saves can be opened in Vue flawlessly.

They are fantastic companions.Problem with the cobs from TS7.11 and

TS 7.51 that I can say cant be opened in Vue . The files must have been

changed . Even the filesize is different to what it was.

If you use obj there is no problem. All in all vue is a very good complement.

You can even make enviroment maps that work well in Truespace.

HDR panoramas, clouds, water, and vegetations.

Lots of fun to play around with. If you record a camera move thru your environment in Vue, you should be able to use a tracking program like Voodoo (free) or Syntheyes to export a camera to TS.

And in case I did not mention it, this is a COOL program to play around with :D

Its a good offer alright but its only for the download version - 800 plus mb in 2 files. I'd go for it except I have no way to get hold of it once its paid for - even my local internet cafe bulks at downloads of that size. 150 or 200mb maybe - but 400! Why do software companies always assume everyone has access to fast broadband? :(

Hi Peter

Have you ever tried to load cobs from 7.5 in 6.6 and then save them from 6.6 and will they then load in Vue? If that works it will be a nice extra tool to have.

Yes ! That works. It changes the cob so that it can be loaded !

I have already posted this to Roman and hope there will be some news

on that soon.

There is also Save As. I wonder if that would be helpful?

Went through all of those ! Not a single one of them opens in vue.

They must have been changed for versions 7-7.51 .

Even the file sizes of the same objects are not the same in 7-7.51

and Ts 4 / Ts 5 / Ts 6 !

If one saves a7 file reopens in Ts6.6 and saves it again no problem ... that

loads in Vue !

Curious... if you were to turn off the Bridge and then Save As older format, would this work?

Lot of information in the Appendex A and Appendex C about this.

Well I tried it out and there is no difference.

The cob coming from TS 7.51 (Exportest1 ) does not open in Vue 6 Inf.

nor does any of the others as you can see from the warning !

The file that was resaved in TS6.6 (exportest A ) can be opened without

any problems. ALL THAT WITH BRIDGE OFF TOO !

The picture I send with this is from Terragen 2 preview .

So if you want to experiment with a very complcated but excellent

landscape program here is a sample. Terragen 2 preview is free for

noncommercial use . so if one just looks for something to play with...

this is an option. Its a high quality alternative to vue.
