well isn't it possible now to capture the dialog (typing)? I think Stan did that awhile back. To be honest watching 5 hours of video of cones sittin around is not exactly entertaining; but to get the transcript may be useful. As far as recording audio, that may be a different story.

I know what you mean Improv. I usually get there 1-2 hours late, and am there for about 1 hour. So if possible you could always duck in.

How?

Exactly!

No, Froo, more like I can SELDOM 'duck in' . But if the sessions were recorded, they could be watched anytime. Assuming of course that it's not just another fanboy meeting!

I will ask Stan how he did it.

No it's not a fanboy meeting. We discuss scripting and actually learn something.

I presented a script for making a waving flag at this last one.

Look at post #4 here if you like. This is the transcript I am referring to for my presentation. I typed it before I discussed it.

Perfect-exactly what I meant. A transcript is even better than a recording-much more to the point.

A whole series like that would be valuable learning tools.

Thanks to those who stuck it out for the full time (Norm - and others I'm sure!) allowing people from different times zones and with differing schedules were able to pop in for at least a brief while..

I really does give me a sense of community to have a little real-time chat with people whose posts I see in the forum - for some, that meeting must have been in the middle of the night!

Even though I didn't understand everything discussed I did come away from it with added understanding. I enjoyed frootee's presentation on waving flag scripting, and understood a fair bit, even if I don't have the math... general understanding is valuable too.

Oh BTW... we also strongly encourage folks to present tools and toys themselves, so if you have something you would like to present, you could, by typing a transcript and loading it here for others to download.

Yes, I know that; but it will be a long while before I do something that I think is good enough and have the time to get to that level.

well, by that I mean, even if it's a one-liner, or a simple trick you learned. You never know, others may never have thought of it!

Whenever you're ready, we'll be here!

I hope at some point that I can do stuff that dele / trueblue / Jack Edwards / Norm come up with, for example.

When I get a chance, I'll be posting something based on the flag example. Hopefully it will look really cool.

Hi butterpaw. Just listened. One word:

Nice!

Do you play all 3 of those instruments? I know you were a music teacher. Now, was that on a keyboard, or all 3 of the original instruments? Where can I hear more? I really liked that! I just started thinking about an animation hearing those 3 audio files. Put them together, OK I'll type it up !

I'm so pleased it got you going froo ... have fun with them and feel free to take them apart if you like.. just play around.. and see if they are good for anything .. I'll break them up myself when I get a few minutes in case anybody would like really little snippets - they can also be looped, of course.

I write for many instruments that I do not play.. but one learns how they are played, what they do best, etc. (after all, one doesn't want to write something unplayable) and I've been very fortunate to have had many of my compositions performed live..

I don't actually play publicly or professionally any more, but I did play for many years (symphony orchestra, chamber groups, pit orchestras for both musicals and operas, and a few other fun things) - I had marvelous opportunities and wonderful experiences. ^_^

I wrote these with pen and manuscript paper. However, I transcribed them into Finale, setting it to play my score with my written expressions and some decent sound fonts. Not too bad a software, although there are better ones out there, but for lots more $$. I also have FL Studio Pro which I use for other sorts of sounds ^^_ .

Everyone has their own method - if it works - it's good. But when I compose.. though I could key it in using a normal alphanumeric keyboard.. I like to write it down .. something takes place between mind and pen and paper .. ;)

... I have some sound effects too... ^_^
