Well I could point out how it is indicative of the social depravity that can exist behind the doors of seemingly normal people. Or, how it is set in a period where such things were deemed to 'not happen around here'. Or the finely creepy acting from a great british actor (and Director). Or....but I'm not sure that you want to hear all this...;)

Now, now...no need for your sarcasm young whippersnapper.

It is a good film though although easy to overlook or dismiss for it's relative 'tameness' especially with today's horror films being so visceral and graphic.

Bear in mind just how creepy, and perhaps shocking, that film would have been when it was released...

I am no film expert but I do (or rather did) watch a lot of films...preferably ones that require me to think during and afterwards...:D

I never liked the original Texas Chainsaw, thought it was over rated for a film that had all it's 'horror' in the last 30 mins. But with time you realise how genuinely menacing it was throughout and that is the real 'scare'

Enjoyed the remake too (especially Jessica Biel ;))and the hills have eyes too but subsequent sequels (or prequels) have simply 'dumbed down' the concept and for anyone seeing those first they may well avoid the classier fims they are based on.

I guess it might have been a psychological thriller at the time rather than a horror film. As for documentary, it was based on a real person, place and events. It is an old film but it still creeped me out, I don't scare easily but I like to be 'spooked' by a movie or theme.

I love Tim Burton movies particularly nightmare before Xmas if that gives you a hint of my creative influences...:D

LOL - Dude, you need to get out a little more! Jessica is a rather attractive young Hollywood movie starlet. I find her appealing because she is a little different to the usual California-pretty-blonde and the roles I've seen her in tend to be strong women - and I like strong women :D.

Google her name and make up your own mind Brother.

EDIT: Ooops, classic beat me to it!
