Here is a little pic showing the displacement mapping available in dribble.


You may have read in other threads about the mesh coming apart. This occurs on sharp edges - the solution on the righthand column was to create a structure with chamfered edges then use a fully rounded material rather than the standard corner rounding of 32 degrees.


Frankly if someone bought dribble just as a displacement mapping plugin its good value!


If anyone else wants to join in please post a little dribble displacement experiment. This is a great tool - good on you SiW!

Great examples. You should hopefully have much fewer displacement cracks in 1.01 too - only thing to bear in mind is that you'll need to tone down your amplitude significantly as I made it match Lightworks.

In my example I used an amplitude of 1 on the main column whereas the smaller column has an amplitude of .5.

wow, what a difference. Very nice experiment. I haven't tried this yet. I have to get cracking.
