Andy, not sure what response you might get to posting 3ds stuff only on here. For one, only users of 3ds could offer real technical advice. Not sure what policy is about finished work here done completely in another program...kinda defeats the object of a tS forum.
We all use other software and you don't even have to use tS alone for winning entries. Many of us use Vue, Zbrush, Mudbox etc. but I don't recall anyone entering software completely done in another package.
I have no problem myself just not sure how tS users would react to seeing stuff done in a another program...depends on the context I suppose i.e. madmouse made some component parts in another program, UV in another but the end result shows a tS render...:D |

Welcome back Andy. If there's any doubt about posting your images here just IM Norm he'll soon give you an answer. As long as it not entirely made in other software I don't see a problem myself. |

How about scene created on others app then export to trueSpace for texture and rendering? :D |

But wouldn't that constitute a trueSpace image which is allowed?
I guess it depends if any of it was modelled in tS. Either way, a grey area that Norm would have to approve, we can't...:D |

I would think the same rules apply as the Gallery. The "primary" application used was TS. |

So they must let Andy (Classic12) post his non tS Wip here :p
Is it possible to modelling about 10 hours on Max, then export to tS for texture and rendering for 15 hours :D |

Yes, I can't speak for Caligari's decision about dribble, but shortly after virtuaout was released (which, for those of you who may not know, was my plugin before it got rolled into tS7) they made a statement saying VirtuaLight renders were allowed. |

I think that inclusion of trueSpace in a workflow, even when other products are being used, is still extending use of trueSpace and could be a significant portion of market.. therefore it seems likely that inclusion of members using tS in that way would be beneficial all round, promoting tS as a compatible and friendly software in addition to being a complete product. (imho)
I'm certainly happy that while trueSpace is a versatile and complete software on its own, it also increases the usability of my Poser and Vue software. Instead of having to ditch them, I can eventually incorporate them into work-flow, thus enhancing the value of my previous investments of both time and money. This scores very high in my book! :)
With regard to including 3dmax into the mix.. I'd be very interested to see in what ways that can happen, as at least two of my modelers will be using that software.
Additionally, the compatibility with 3D Game Studio A6 engine is very encouraging - I'm really hoping that trueSpace will be updated for A7 compatibility too, (since that's the game engine I'll be using).:)

Norm has already given me personal instructions on what not to mention or use here on the forums. :)
I don't imagine Caligari minds much at all what happens to the product once it leaves trueSpace. In fact, they appear to me to encourage it with their Ambassador Program.
As the goodies in tS7.6 come to light, I can only hope with great anticipation that tS will become a powerhouse in the 3D world.
Reading various forums throughout the 3D world, the complaint no matter how sophisticated the 3D software has become, is the application of the final product and the path getting there.
Although not complete, tS7.XX series is well on its way to setting standards. Collada was a significant step as one can use the industry standard to share many creations in tS.
In my mind, because I like animation so much, the tools for animation and the organizational tools in getting there are becoming extremely powerful. The LE has so much potential, I can't even get my mind around it.
I'm building up my own personal library of BVH and Collada files so when it comes times to make an animation, I will just do a drag here and a drop there and instant animation!
Realtime sharing has huge potential by itself. I can see in the future where lighting, effects and other things associated with massively boring render time will be a thing of the past. Call me speculative and silly, but I see great potential for real time environment.
I'm less than creative today as the Dentist took about not only vital tissue today, but an amount that was exponentially related and inflicted trauma to my wallet. :)
Maybe I can make a movie about that. :) |

What about posting it in his blog? I don't think it's appropriate to post non ts work on the main forum either, but if he does once in a while in his blog maybe? |
