Hi all,

From time to time we wil be adding to our case studies on our "solutions" pages (the ones along the bottom on the main page).

Just so no-one misses it, a new page has just gone live, showing a very interesting project that showcases collaboration on several levels (both from modeling / creating the scene, but then also the intended use of the scene where non-3D folks are meant to meet, gather, study and learn).

You can read more about it here:

Thanks!

Tom

Hi Tom.

Cool! Thanks for sharing that with us! And Kudos to Dele (Matthew Collins) and CdeB (Chris Barker)!

And last but not least, Kudos to the entire Caligari team for making this possible! :=D

Very sweet looking page. Kudo's to Tom as well for preparing!

It had been awhile since I had an opportunity to check up on the scenario. I can see it has moved forward substantially since I last checked it out. I encourage everyone to have a look at what the trueSpace technology is capable of.

Dynamic collaboration is a blast! As some here can surely attest to :)

Hi All,

Most of the kudos goes to Dele for what you see, but we all have and will learn a lot in the process. Since I requested contact through the forums and have been abroad for 2 weeks with only v.limited web access, I thought I would touch base here, and indicate a willingness to field questions as and when they arise.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this project, it has opened a great many doors simultaneously and proven the unparalleled value of interactive and collaborative realtime multi-user shared space beyond question.

This is yet another truly outstanding example of a very bright future we all share together as Caligari Shared Space Developers.

Thank you for pushing the envelope!:)

Very Nice!

Collaboration has so much potential.

I think when CB is satisfied with the progression, he should ask a writer of a Scientific based magazine to come visit and get tour. I bet there are plenty of scientists, engineers, architects and etc. who would love an interactive environment like this.

It's like a 3D game, but you get to build it the way you want and you get to acquire help from anywhere in the world!

Wow - that is hyper-cool! I can only imagine how gratified Roman and the Caligarians must feel to see this wonderful outcome being realised from all their hard work.

Well done to all concerned.

Anyone remember when folk were saying what use was 3d collaboration?

Ok, this is a beta cell project running in parallel with the one on the main page...as you will observe from recent speed modelling contests, my use of tS (if not my skill level ;)) has gone up a notch in the last couple of months. I am also using it again at work.

The illustration is a WIP showing how the insulin-containing vesicles are formed at the golgi body in the cell and transported on the cytoskeleton to the place of the release. It will be annotated for where we believe the molecule we are working on is acting.

Note to Dele: Here is my solution for cytoskeleton construction under the plasma membrane, not too many polys I believe. Shell tool may you live for ever! Maybe we can adapt this for the real-time model...
