Hi all,

For those not scanning all our web pages continually to see what has updated (!), thought I would drop in a note to say we posted a new game case study on the solutions pages.

This is a catch up with Reactor Interactive, who have been working hard on their game Sector 13 for many years, and continue to get great reception at game shows and similar. Find out where they are now, and how they got there, and what their plans are for the future!

We should have some new graphics on that page in the next few weeks too - Reactor Interactive have been caught up doing work for game shows, so have been unable to snag screenshots from the game engine they now use, so the screengrabs here are from the previous engine. When we make that update, I'll post here and announce it :) Meantime this is still worth a look and a read if you are at all interested in what it takes to make a game!

Thanks!

Tom

Wow! A lot of work!

I'll stick to self-flagellation with spiked chains, it appears to be less painful than making a game. :D

Congrats to Reactor Interactive and Vicki and the associated teams. Talk about dedication, my hats off to ya!

I love this "cases study" cos there you can see all the love and effort put it on their works to follow their own ideas and goals..

Congratulations

That's a great read. I made a game of frogs boxing, a 5 minute game with 2 characters, and that took me a lot of time so I can definitely see how this game took 6 years. I agree with him about the ease of use of truespace over a lot of apps out there. I don't know how anyone can get around in blender. I wish them success with their game.

Blender is definitely a pain to navigate, but it does have some cool features. Things like texture baking, LCSM uv's and it's fluid simulator I would love to see in TS.

These are pretty much the only reasons I still use it now.
