Question - would you prefer a separate "export to rib" button, or have .rib as an option for render-to-file? My debug/artist-formerly-known-as-dribble-pro builds have a separate button (that's why the dribble toolbar is longer than you think it should be, if you were wondering) but maybe it makes more sense to include it as just another output option. Or is that too confusing - would you always expect an image?

Not sure what you mean but I would like a render image icon (as it is now) and an export option seperately...:D

Hi

I bought Dribble a couple of days ago, if you live in the UK it will cost you the princely sum of £17.45.

Although its going to be a while before I can get maximum benefit from it (still learning ts) I think its good to support development of plugins - who knows maybe other geniuses could be encouraged to bring us more toys.

I had no problem installing Dribble and getting it to work with 3Delight, looks like a great program.

It is a great program. Look here for examples of material renders done in dribble;

I can supply scenes if that helps (but not the pig)...:D

I would agree with splinters. Would like both, if possible, and would not find it confusing.. If this is indeed the kind of answer you're looking for.

Interesting might be to have a command string that can be set to allow dribble to call the exe for the other render engines and pass it the RIB file as a parameter. That would make automating animation rendering a bit easier.

Integration with Workspace - that's what I'm dreaming of!

Me too, along with cell shaders and the fur that's been shown in one of the other threads! Keep up the good work SiW, were all looking forward to see what you got instore for us!

This seems an appropriate place to say that 3Delight 7.0 has been released. It's possible that there will be some incompatibilities with dribble, but as I've only just downloaded it I can't say yet. If you install it and do have problems, please be patient, as I have limited time to work this weekend.

Update: I did a VERY quick test and found that nothing renders properly because all the shaders need to be recompiled. If you want to update to 7.0 and want to test dribble, you'll need to unzip this (http://truespace.coolpowers.com/files/3deshaders.zip) into your \3delight\shaders\ directory, overwriting what is there. I can't say there won't be other problems though, but if you have some spare time and don't mind risking losing dribble functionality for a few days, go ahead :)

I'll do a proper update for 7.0 as soon as I can. Again, thanks for your patience over the next couple of days.

So far, so good. I replaced the shaders as suggested and renders look OK so far.

Any idea what the main advantages are in this release of 3Delight?

It seems quicker...maybe just me though...

After more tests, I'm fairly confident that dribble works fine with 7.0 as long as you update the shaders.

The setup for 1.02 has been updated with the new shaders, or you can just use the patch as detailed earlier.

dribble 1.03 will be targetting 3Delight 7.0.0 so you can also wait until that release if you wish.

Yup, I can agree with that. Had no problem using 3delight 7. However, renders are not the same so some tweaking is required if you want to recreate a previous image. Seems for the better though...:D

Is version 1.03 still on for the 12th of December Simon?

Looking forward to it...:)

Still the target, though don't be entirely surprised if there's some shifting in the timeline - I've not been able to work as much as I expected for the past couple of days.

Hi Simon, is there any news yet regarding volumetrics in Dribble? is it possible in the render engine?

I didn't know volumetrics were planned. I was looking forward to fur and multipass rendering. 3Delight 7 seems to have more features so I hope Simo can also optimise what we have. Dribble has a great future in my opinion...I look forward to messing with it over my Xmas holiday. My plan is to finish Litle Cloud then use Dribble in my next project...:D

I not even sure if they are  or if it's possible :(

it'd be nice to have them in dribble though

Is this still planned for today Simon? Don't want to wait by the PC looking for news if it has been delayed.

Still, it is your Birthday, enjoy that with your family. That is more important than anything...:D

Hey guys, the update isn't coming today. Sorry I couldn't have said anything sooner, this is the first chance I've had to sit back down at the computer this afternoon. I could have released it if I'd have pulled a couple of features but I want them in, so we'll wait until they're done - should be around the end of the week.

On the plus side, that means the offer price has been extended :)

Thanks for the update Simon, I can get back to modelling chairs again...;)

Any chance of a final feature list while we wait? Give us something to look forward to.

I know what you mean, I am on vacation now and would love to give Dribble 1.03 a test drive...but, would you rather lose a few features or wait a few more days to get them? Weeks sort of end on Sunday around here..

I hate to keep doing this, but I can't see it being ready on Monday either - I'm getting *nothing* done here.

So, obviously it will be soon, I want to get it cleared out before Christmas for one thing.

Simon, when you hear the crowd chanting "more, more, more" take it as a compliment. Start worrying when nobody cares.
I can wait just like the rest. Try to enjoy the Holidays too.

Hey Simon, just starting a new project (paying:D) for a client and was considering using dribble. There will be fur involved.

Any news on that potential Monday release?
