After listening to the jaws .wav, I had a little light bulb glimmer... That file is much smaller but not much shorter than mine.... and now I remember that I used 44100hz sampling.. which is quite high

I could probably reduce that considerably while stilll maintain a pleasing sound quality... I'll have a look at that when I get home. :)

Ok folks... here we go again!

We're getting close to zero hour here for the meeting start so I just wanted to clarify what this will be like for folks to experience in case some of you (or more likely all of you!) may be wondering!:)

The following 5 realtime screengrabs of this meetingplace we will be inhabiting tonight explain it all.

If anyone is unsure of how to get there to the Scriptorium truePlace portal tonight please read the very first post in this thread with extensive instructions to make all that very easy for you, thanks.;)

See you all there folks,

Hahaha!

Yep, it was a 5 banana night alright... what a blast that all was!:D

Oddly enough we did manage to get in a few good and productive serious discussions too, as always, but somehow meeting together inside a psychedelic blue brain the size of a shopping mall became the best environment for spontaneous humor any one of us has ever experienced!:p

Yep.... great people and great times as always!

We are also going to have a blast together in the months ahead scripting new Avatar Activities and wild Scripted online scenes with the advent of this incredible new Artificial Intelligence Scripting from Glen... the possibilities and capabilities of all that code are endless and our scenes will all be reflecting that fact very soon for sure!

See you at the Saturday meeting too!;)

I'm sure everyone will enjoy these .. would be especially nice if an animation could be recorded too, to use as a Holiday greeting ^_^

Sure, we'll probably have all kinds of variations on this idea in time.:)

Great picture Butter. Next week we'll do the musicbox together when you're feeling better. I'm glad you had a chance to drop in last night for the antics too though, there's just no substitute for being there and last night was one very funny night that a lot of folks will probably wish now that they hadn't missed.:p

Great people, great times, as always!:D

Well, if you guys are heading into "inner space" tonight, you'll need to be able to shrink to a fitting size.

Here's something I came up with back when I put together the teleportation machine. It's called the Size-O-Matic. :) Just stand on the machine press the Use button (P) to activate it. There is a smaller Size-O-Matic to the right of the big one to get back to a normal size.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it tonight but I'll try. Still very busy. Hopefully I can swing by for a while though. I haven't made it to a meeting in a while, and knowing you guys I'm probably missing out on all kinds of cool stuff.

Wow! That came as a big surprise!!!

Too bad you couldn't make it last night, we had a real blast together in there. Hope to see you next time, these meetings are really becoming very very poular lately and the script collaboration and brainstorming is in very high gear there now for sure!:)

Thanks for the Size-O-Matic!!!! Very funny idea!!!

Holey Moley Matthew....

I've been walking back and forth from the large Size-O-Matic to the ant-sized one and this completely blows my mind!!!!:p

What a fantastic idea this was!!!!

I have GOT to design a scene especially for using this device, this is like something out of a Sci-Fi Movie... it zaps you and you shrink down to the size of an ant, and then when you walk to the tiny one and zap yourself back to normal size and look down at the ground beneath you the one you just used to return to normal size looks like a pebble on the ground!!!!:p

I love this!!!!:D

Man, you have one amazing imagination guy, really!!! Well done!:)

:jumpy:

Hi Steve,

Actually Dele said that he created the "Size-O-Matic" device at the same time he was creating his Teleportation devices a while back, but the "Size-O-Matic" is not a teleportation device itself, rather a Dimensional Scale Device.

Here's where you can read about it and download it:

http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=54773&postcount=59 (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=54773&postcount=59)

Dele's Teleportation devices are in the "Garage" area of the forums here too if you haven't tried them out yet, along with many other groundbreaking script developments from Dele, including animation triggers, door triggers, and a ton of additional very useful stuff!

You're gonna love this new "Size-O-Matic" device!!! This thing is a blast!!!:D

Thanks guys. :) I just realized that I forgot to change the action radius for the small Size-O-Matic. So it triggers further away then it should. 'doh

where can I find the teleport machine object to try it out?I'm pretty sure that I uploaded it somewhere but I can't find it. I know that I shared it in shared space a while back. Anyway, here is a scene with it. You can capture up to 5 teleport locations. You can use the Destination Controller on the side to choose which of the 5 locations to teleport to.

Nice Dele. Thanks for reposting this!

Wasn't it Alice in Wonderland, where she had to drink something that was labeled, "Drink Me", in order to shrink to get into a small door? This would be a perfect example for use. You drink the liquid in the bottle labeled "Drink Me" by clicking on it, and shrink, to get into the tiny door of a fascinating place. Escapism at its best! :)

Yeah, it made me think of Alice in Wonderland too when I was making it. I thought she ate a mushroom though? Or was that to go into Wonderland? I don't recall.

Yeah, I actually have the Size-O-Matic scripted to change any parameter on the "fp properties" node. So with that it's possible to create all kinds of power up effects like running faster, jumping higher, etc.. It would be easy to alter that machine to make all kinds of power up machines. Just change the sign texture and a couple of inputs, and you have a new power up machine.

Being able to change avatar properties like that lends itself to all kinds of game like behaviors. I was thinking of trying to tap into the post process effects to add bloom and glow with triggers too. You could have bloom and glow flash when you get hurt or something. Or you could have some special potion that gives you illuminated sight. Lots of game style possibilities yet to try. :)

Great stuff Matthew, I'm lovin' it!!!:D

We've been talking at these Tuesday Night Meetings lately about putting together a snowball-firing rifle too, speaking if games in shared space!

There's also some very cool new developments with special effects lighting from Norm which are opening up some excellent new uses for shared space games as well.

Looks like a lot of us happen to be on the same track here, so I'm sure the months ahead are gonna be a ton of fun for everyone now!!!:D

I have a couple of surprises up my sleeves too which will be making their debut very soon here, and with all of us brainstorming lately on Tuesdays who knows what will be next!

Great people, great times, and definitely great fun!:)

Thanks!

Oh my....you... Dele are a genius!!!! The Size-O-Matic is such a cool idea.....!!! This works so cool..this just gave me an ideas of shrinking down to a small size and get teleported inside a ASM tape solo to fly around and stuff.... MarkO knows what I am taking about!!!!

Dam you guys inspire the hell of of me!!!!!!

Guess what Scala?

Now that Dele has made it possible for Avatars in shared space to shrink down to the size of a pea and navigate together that way all session, there is one place where no one has ever been in 3D before but for decades now many kids worldwide have envisioned at some point they would truly love to explore....

"Kandor."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kandor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kandor)

http://www.supermanhomepage.com/comics/who/who-intro.php?topic=kandor (http://www.supermanhomepage.com/comics/who/who-intro.php?topic=kandor)

Food for thought? :D

- 3dvisuals dude

EDIT: There is one more "little idea" in relation to all this....

Remember that new Immersive Desktop Environment scene for download here in the "truePlay gets a new make-over" thread at the Roundtable....

You know... the one with all those bookshelves which could easily hold say, 200 Bottled 3D Cities? :D
