Alright... here you go...
I liked this idea so much I got a little carried away and built half of it this morning.
This is a freebie for anyone who would like to use Dele's awesome new "Size-O-Matic" device (which shrinks your Avatar in realtime to a tiny size which you could actually explore a city like Kandor with) coupled with one of his many Teleporter devices (to send your tiny Avatar in and out of the bottled city) to actually build your own "Kandor" city in a bottle to explore either offline alone or online with friends.
Who say's Scripting isn't fun?
Enjoy... the zipped RsScn file follows the realtime screengrab of it below:

Cool idea Mark!!! I will down load this and try it out. So by shrinking the models down, can you create more complete models and then shrink them down to get them under the size limitations of shared space or trueplay? |

LOL! I wish!:p
Nah.... something scaled very large or very small has no effect at all on the practical size limitations of an online portal... too bad too, I really wish it did!
Still, with this new Size-O-Matic (Avatar shrinking and growing) device you can make a very huge low-poly city for online use (as long as the total scene size is under 5 meg when saved as a scene to an offline library), navigate around in it in FPN (First Person Navigation) mode of trueSpace or truePlay, design and / or add existing scripted interactivity to it (doors which open on approach, lights which go on as you enter an area, objects which run external programs when clicked, objects which open web pages online or offline when clicked, etcetera), and scripted activities to it (land sea and air Avatar vehicle transports for instance), and then scale the entire city down to a tiny size (small enough to fit in the bottle above for instance) and use the Size-O-Matic to shrink Avatars small enough to explore the place either online or offline, on an online portal, an offline hard drive, or a CD using truePlay. You could also place that City in a Bottle among dozens more within an offline immersive scene such as the one I provided for download in the "truePlay gets a new make-over?" thread here, where there are shelves to hold hundreds.
That's just one use for this new "Size-O-Matic" device, it opens up a great many totally extraordinary additional uses as well for completely unprecedented multi-user interactive Avatar Activities in shared space now.
~ Enter... the Pirate Wars! ~
This way, for instance, you could go online and enter a portal room in truePlay or trueSpace where there is a table in front of you. Around that table are several spectators. On the table is a circular tub of water with moving waves and two small 18th Century Ships engaged in realtime naval warfare... a Crown Ship and a Pirate Ship.
Just in front of the table is a Size-O-Matic device. You step on it's platform and trigger it with a keypress and you are shrunken down in realtime on the floor below you to the size of one of the crew members on the Ships high above, then you step to the side where there are two other tiny platforms, one with the image of a Crown on it and the other with a Skull and Bones.
You step onto the Skull and Bones platform and are teleported right to the deck of the Pirate Ship in the midst of the realtime battle above.
Roman DID mention the upcoming "breakable objects" in trueSpace7.6 in his last "Captains Blog" post here at the forums.... maybe now people will begin to see it's enormous potentials!
Great times these.... we are definitely going places now!:D

There's going to be a lot of cool new visions on all this stuff when folks start seeing the new features in action which Roman is telling folks here about.
The new "breakable objects" is an absolutely awesome new feature of the next trueSpace version coming your way! Roman posted a cool video of it in the following thread (which I was referring to above):
http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=54531&postcount=37 (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=54531&postcount=37)
The actual video link is in that post between the images, it is also here:
http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/attachment.php?attachmentid=9884&d=1196630847 (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/attachment.php?attachmentid=9884&d=1196630847)
The reason I mentioned "breakable objects" in that scenario above (which I could do since Roman had already disclosed it here in his Captain's Blog thread) is that in that "Pirate Wars" scenario the ships could actually lob cannonballs at each other which would destroy "breakable" parts of each ship on impact, and eventually sink it, Avatar Crew and all!!! :D
Cannonballs could probably even be made to knock Avatars in their way right off the decks of the other ship! Hahahaha!
Too cool, or what?:p

Yeah it will be a blast to play with this new breakable stuff for sure!
We can probably use it in shared space to have:
Buildings with floors that can be made to collapse in places dropping you to a hidden corridor leading elsewhere.
Locked doors which can be smashed open by hitting them with nearby furniture.
Avatar populated boats and ships which can be damaged or even destroyed by missiles, cannonballs, torpedos, or even Avatar Kamakazies!
Avatar Demolition Derby's where we ride our cars into each other until only one of us still has a working car!
All kinds of stuff will probably be possible with this and scripting, so we're all in for a great time ahead for sure now!
