Hello All

Animators Club is having another meeting this weekend.

For info and link to the scriptorium check here:

http://www.caligari.com/AnimatorsClub.asp

I would like to have two parts to the meeting this week. I would like to cover a topic first. I have not thought of a topic yet so any suggestions are welcome. I will have one by Wednesday the latest. The second part will be as requested an introduction to the interface for beginners. I highly recommend people not experienced in animation yet to attend, and those experienced would be helpful to give tips. It would be best if you came to this part of the meeting in truespace, but I will try to make it easy to follow for everyone.

So please post your topic suggestions here. I was thinking of doing animating lights, not sure though.

Thanks

@ Scala3D - These meetings are great Steve, you won't be disappointed!

@ 3dfrog - I think tonight you may find we have a couple of ideas you may want to explore on Saturday as well... one of them requires animation for sure and will be a very fun new shared space Avatar activity for everybody.

We'll talk tonight in more detail about it.;)

Well, I don't know about you Dennis, but after last night I doubt I'll ever laugh so hard in shared space again! We had a real blast there together!:p

Now my sights are set on Saturday already!:D

I know several folks who are planning to come there Saturday, and all these meetings are becoming more popular every week now.:)

Maybe if Frootee pops in there with us too we can start working on a new snowball rifle together...he has some anim ideas on that which may just work great and be fairly easy to tackle together. Sure would be fun to have snowball wars in shared space!

I'll see ya there guy, your meetings are always fun and educational!:)

Thanks Mark

I don't think I'll have time to prepare for 2 parts of the meeting, so we'll just be doing the introduction to animation. It will take me a while to prepare properly. We'll have a little casual time at the beginning of the meeting then get our hands dirty.

Cool, I'm looking forward to it a lot!:)

I am SUCH a newbie with animation! There's a zillion ways I could use animation in shared space and I really want to so I always try to make these meetings of yours, they always help me a lot!

See ya there!

I found something I think you may like Dennis... :D

EDIT: aside from the zipped wav file below here's a website I also found with some excellent specific frog calls in wav format:

Cool, they have a Carpenter Frog. :)

I am kinda PO though, I always thought all frogs made the classic Ribbit sound... oh well.

Very cool link.

That was a great Meeting guy, thanks!

I learned a lot about the things which were total mysteries to me before and now I won't be so intimidated when I hit that "4D" orange square anymore!!!:p

Sorry I had to take off so soon after the end of the presentation, hopefully next time I'll be able to stay longer.

Thanks!

After all these years using trueSpace I never really put in much effort learning it's Animation capabilities. I had asked 3DFrog for a basics class for us beginners and he did a great job with that. It just proves that all experience levels can learn something new here. You just have to ask.

Thanks again 3DFrog and see you at the next meeting.

I'm so glad you guys found it useful. There's nothing I like more than turning people on to animation and helping them out. I am no pro, but I have been using the ts animation features a lot since I got it in the summer so know my way around it pretty good by now. I used other apps for animation previously too. I just hope the information I gave was accurate. It is a constant learning process. I will try to make the meetings fun and educational for everyone. It's great we can all learn together in shared space.

Dang, sorry 3dfrog that I had to miss it. Sounds like it was a great meeting. My daughter had a indoor soccer game @ 2:00 on Saturday. Is there a meeting next Saturday?
