Great job to all the entries this month! Stephen (MadMouse) came in second but was a winner all the way. The 1st place Winner is excellent and done by Daniel Blumel. I am still trying to figure out the text message "Evil" something "07" found mid right of the rendering. It looks like fresh kill by Mr. Bunny.(or by the rendering next to it). Is he a Forum user? I like his style.
I see SpaceKdet got one in this month and it looks great! WWW finally got just due.(It also looked great last month but nobody saw it)
Flavio Adriani got 4 in this month and they looked great. (does he come to these forums?)
What shocked me was an empty panel! Come on people send in your renderings, the Toy Factory could easily have given the top Renderings a run for the money.
The Animation by Bernard Haseloff was very good but the music didn't fit. It was my favorite of the bunch and I was glad it won. |

Probably shoud have posted my "woohoo" and banana here instead of the "November Gallery" thread. The music is my own original something I did on tape recorders in the early 90's - no copyright concerns! (Thought it was ok.... but slightly bluesy guitar solos and fingerpicking bluegrass is pretty much all I do.)
Edit: Moved my above mentioned comments from the "Bugs" forum "November Gallery" to here:
Woo hoo! I won the animation comp! I'd like to thank my mom and dad and Roman and Caligari ....
It just started as an experiment in using trueparticles in 6.6 then became an exercise in compositing essentially still images in an "animated" way. Been tinkering with it off and on for about a year. I've said it before - we hobbiests have no deadlines. |

All the detail in Daniel's winning is amazing. Is that a VRay render or what? I wish the creatures weren't quite so obscured - I'd like a better look at them.
MadMouse bad luck "Missed it by that much." - Maxwell Smart. Great model. |

Lots of great entries this month. Some very impressive stuff in animation gallery. Bernarts animation was very nice and those musical intruments were great. I really enjoyed watching how christmas was saved, a very cute story and that animated invitation was cool too. I wish I had time to make some animation but I am busy with the beta right now and working.
The image gallery is fantastic. I can't believe that madmouse came in second, although the winner is excellent too. You never know what work might pop up in these galleries, part of the fun. |

Daniel is a member of the german trueSpace forum and we always like there how much details he puts into his work. It's not done with 7.5 as far as I know. So I think there is much more to expect when he starts working with 7.x:D |

I was wondering if it was some marvellous realtime with a bloom effect but Emma says he's not using 7.5 so I guess it must be 6.6 or lower plus some post proessing. |

Thanks guys and congratulations to all the other entries and winners.
Ah well... 'always the brides maid and never the bride' (well... once I was the bride;)) maybe I should start using TS for every part of my process again ;):D
But then again... second place is great unless your in a duel :D
Congrats to Burnart for his win in the animations to, I loved that gloopy lava :D

Did Daniel not use version 4?
I know that some of it's previous works are done with version 3.
He does really amazing stuff with them. Less possibilities but great images. |

Agreed - although I think I liked the moving water and spray/mist effects from the little waterfall even more - really nicely done.
And well done to you MM - really nice job, shame you missed out again. To my mind, whilst the winning still image was good, I find it very hard to make out what is going on in it! |

Well after checking out Daniel Blümel's website I can now see why some things are hard to see...(Anatomically acurate):D

All nice really but I think Steve's was the best of the bunch. However, taking the tips given by Roman about lighting and composition being winning traits I can see why he was not chosen as the winner.
Still a great piece of work in my book though...:D
When we get time eh Steve? Our ideas, your modelling and texturing , a little lighting and composition from me and we should make sweet piccies....;) |

Just in response to some comments from various people:
The running water is from an animated ShaderLab bump texture.
The spray and smoke effects were added in and the rendered layers were composited using a program called Particle Illusion - www.wondertouch.com (Which was originally put out by Impulse the people who made a now long defunct program called Imagine - my first 3d package.)
The lava is done in 2 ways - firstly there is an animated avi of orange streaks that was wrapped around the volcano which flows across the surface. (This avi was created in pIllusion also.) Then there are the trueparticles metablobs. I rendered 400 frames of eruption with thousands of particles and it took a continuous week to render. I wouldn't be keen to do it again! |

Just translated some of the infos atex gave to us in the german trueSpace forum. Interesting as it shows another proof that trueSpace "is also really existing outside this trueSpace forum" and making a very good job there :).
and here is partly citatiation regarding his work
..."
Evoke is a demo scene party which is held each year in Cologne (Germany). There people from all over the world come to show their work and get in contact with others, and of course to have fun. Not only 3D pictures are shown, you can find also pixel grafics, ANSI/ASCII grafics (yes, in old days that was the only way....), music and real time demos. Shown on different platforms like Comodore C64, AMIGA, Atari up to modern PC.
Four times in series Daniel won first place on that event with his pictures, all created completely with trueSpace. First time it was 2004, a garden picture with the figure Kenny from South Park in it. It was done with trueSpace 3 ! Since 2005 he works with trueSpace 6.
"....
the Evoke link, maybe you want to participate next time;)

Thanks for the news Emma!
We miss updates from our German friends, thanks for letting us know about what is going on there. :)
It appears that Daniel is qualified for the Ambassador program and needs to be recognized.
Just my opinion, but from what Emma wrote he's pro!

Ah the old orange glow again
You might be onto something... I tried red and blue glowy stuff and snagged an HM. If only I'd remembered to use red + yellow!
Or maybe it was the stealthy power of the mondoSphere...
such are the mysteries of the caliGallery. |
