Thanks Paul

I'm hesitant to use frames. People tell me they have problems with them, i never have, but i want it viewable by everyone. A counter is a good idea. I think I'll get one. 3dfrog.com has been around a few years, this is just a new design.

I redid my movies page with flv's from camtasia instead of using youtube. I wouldn't mind youtube except at the end it gives a menu to other animations people did and I don't want others peoples stuff showing in the video page of my site.

If anyone can try it and let me know what the loading time is I'd appreciate it. It's pretty fast for me but I'm on cable.

Thanks.

Now for my titles and tags

Takes about 15-20 seconds for me, on a 2.5Meg connection.

hmmm, I guess 15 seconds isnt bad considering demo is over 3 mb. Think I should try to optimize more? or is that an acceptable speed? Thanks james, that is the kind of speed i like to hear :)

Looks pretty good 3dfrog. I do think that green should be in there somewhere (frog thing). It looks clean and user-simple.
The demo took abt 30 or so seconds on a .... lol, I have no idea what my speed is, but I'm on cable also.

No problem. The only issue with frames I've encountered is that you can't directly bookmark a page because you're always on the frame page. Anyway, as I said, it's only a minor niggle. Best of luck with future expansion of the site.

Interesting, I wonder why not?

Because what you're seeing - and trying to bookmark - is a 'container' with essentially no real content of it's own - it may have navigation, banner etc, but all the 'live' pages are 'called into' the container to view... they are referenced in but not part of the whole page itself.

Bit like having a bucket - you can keep filling it with differnet liquids, but the only way you can pick them up is to pick up the bucket... (not a perfect analogy of course - you could put a dry material in the bucket or use a small container to scoop liquid out, but you get the point, I hope...)

Alternatively, think of it like an Quark or Indesign document - images are linked to the document but not necessarily embedded within it. Similar thing for x-refs in CAD... effectively you can only 'bookmark' the master document/drawing when it comes to websites using frames...

I try to avoid them too....
