I had also had in mind the anatomical view as well as the outward view... fun and educational was my thought..

Well I'm also interested in other ideas that come up.. brainstorming generates more and better ideas so I'm glad we have a chance to do this.

.. and Froo, yes we would! .. lots of 'animated/scripted' ideas possible

Definitely!

I believe firmly that as we all proceed together to develop immersive scenes for online and offline use we will be incorporating animation and script so closely into not only the design level but the immersion experience that there will be a genuine blending of them whenever and wherever one will be experiencing them.

Oddly enough I woke up today in the midst of a very awesome vivid dream about exactly that!

Unlike other mediums, Caligari Immersive Technologies all lend themselves by design very nicely to the end user of these technologies actually being inside the 3D context of an animation as a participant in realtime rather than a mere observer as is the case in every other non-Caligari approach. This in fact is one of the primary marketing advantages of Caligari Immersive Technologies and sets them far and away ahead of the pack as the genuine Industry Leader in Immersive Technologies aside from various Game Engine businesses who are of course focused on little else.

Obviously the Game Industry worldwide has fully embraced 3D Immersion and the world has jumped on that bandwagon from the sheer excitement of the vivid realtime experience, but long before that ever started Roman had his eyes set clearly on 3D Immersive Technologies being used worldwide for realtime collaboration and social networking. Such environments are beginning now to truly emerge, case in point "Entropia Universe" with it's popularity at an unprecedented high worldwide and growing exponentially it is churning out it's own formidable realworld global economy through immersion as deep as the world has seen to date with the use of the Crytech CryEngine2 Game Engine ( http://www.entropia-universe.com/index.var (http://www.entropia-universe.com/index.var) ). Still, it has a focus which as amazing as all that is does in fact fall short of Roman's early visions for the future of realtime 3D Immersive Collaboration and Social Networking online. So although they have truly broken some amazing ground with their approach, there are many ways in which we can as well aside from that same direction, and in my own opinion in ways which will eventually become far more widely used every day by people worldwide in the years to come.

We'll be seeing many inovative ways to aproach all this as we begin together to collaborate at these meetings in an effort to actually identify them and to identify and approach markets with them directly.

This will be a most interesting challenge and a lot of fun for us all I believe.

Apparently there has been a server crash during the automatic backup of the server.

No method will work to enter the tpportal server with either truePlay or trueSpace, the Cntx will not transfer although text seems to but in reality does not either . it only shows local text.

I popped a PM to Paul about it, sorry to the many people who were there when this happend by itself.

I discovered however that the tsportal server DOES work so I am now in the tsportal server at port 1111 if anyone cares to try to reconstruct our excellent but completely destroyed meeting there.

well you can only get to the trueplay server with trueplay.

Do you have the demo version of 7.5, or the full version?

Well that was perfect timing! Hahahaha!!!:p

Anyway, in spite of having the server crash on us we did manage to have a very interesting discussion session amongst us all for quite a while and that was very exciting!

Next week we will try this again with a similar discussion format. Then the following week we'll begin targeting specific objectives together, including areas where assistance is requested for specific immersive design training, Event Outreach target markets where we will select a fun market together and approach it together as described in this thread, and Shared Space Workshop projects will be selected where we will pull together to bring some of the amazing script developments of the last year into actual working examples ready to be introduced to existing truePlaces or new ones. Avatar Vehicles, Avatar Monorails, Avatar Airplanes... there are many things we can do on that subject together right away.

We had some truly great new and original ideas surface there from everyone as we started to toss all this around in general discussion. I knew that would happen and was delighted to see the depth of it all even in such a short span of time already.

Next week we will be ready with a backup room in advance on a separate server so if we encounter any more server issues we will simply transfer the meeting to another server. This will mean however that truePlay users will be left out if we have to transfer due to the fact that the server we would use as a backup will not permit truePlay users to log in there. So hopefully that won't be the case, but as we found in this meeting almost everyone attended via trueSpace rather than truePlay, so in a worst case scenario if it occurs again at least the majority of us will be prepared to make an instant transition to the other server.

We all discovered at this meeting the potential of working together on these projects and skills though, and the excitement in that room for doing so together via these new meetings was a very nice thing to experience.

Thanks everyone,

See you next Sunday!
