You'd probably get the joke a little better if you knew the winter weather in Vancouver, BC. |

I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season. Merry Christmas everyone. Remember everyone gets a certain degree of stress at this time of year. If everyone did one good deed during the holidays, I bet the stress levels would drop a bit. |

And as a hat tip to the original poster; here's a taste of yesterday morning's weather in the Enchanted Mitten.
Includes festive red and green skies!

Well a bunch of us one eyed Avatars got together on a secret day during the Holidays in "shared space" and voted for our favorite Holiday treat....Fruitcake came in last....guess what came in first?....
The beverage is still there today since Caligari hasn't given our Avatars arms or legs to climb the "holy ladder"
My Holiday wish for 2008? How about a straw?
Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. I will be on sporadically as well - not that it makes a difference. :)
Anyways, here my favorite Holiday Art: |

Well, I don't have a Holiday render to post, but I did whip up a little Holiday scene. ;)
James' midi/jscript project inspired me to play around a little bit. In the scene, the beaters are procedurally animated to swing down. When they reach a certain angle, it triggers a note. There is a master script that runs off of a timer that triggers the beaters to play a song. It's all procedurally animated. It can be programmed to play different tunes, but it would have to be done by hand so it would be rather tedious. Hopefully James will be successful in writing his script to read midi files. Then we will just be able to load new songs in and have the machine play. How cool would that be. :)
Just load the scene and press the "Play Song" button in the LE. It is somewhat CPU intensive so I'm not sure how well it will play on everyone's machines. It plays pretty smooth on mine, but it does bog down a bit when I move the view around.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy it and Happy Holidays. :)

Most excellent Dele!
It worked flawlessly and demonstrated your prowess that procedural animation is quite powerful and fun. :)
I'm still scratching my head on some things, but eventually and hopefully we can have a real 'music machine' for trueSpace that will bring out the best of us.
I've been reading up on sound cards, synthesizers, music set theory and mathematics, midi language programming and a dozen other things.
Going to take awhile to absorb all of that. :)
Thanks again Dele! That was indeed masterful and joyful to the season. :) |
