Aw well, that's it then. A visit to the dentist! You didn't have a great day at all, did you. Not unless, that is, when she said, "Open wide...", and you proceeded to do so, she then went and shoved a cake in there :)! LOL!!!
Happy Birthday, Paul. |

Happy Birthday Mr. Woodward!
I'm sorry I didn't spot this in time, I've been in such a rush popping in and out of here lately I almost missed this entirely.
This coming year I believe we'll be seeing a lot more folks here following your early pioneering steps into bringing shared space to the field of education. This last Sunday in fact there was quite a lot of online collaborative discussion at our brand new weekly Developers Outreach online marketing workshop pertaining to exactly that, with quite a few folks in attendance already from both sides of the Atlantic.
I'm sure you're already aware of how virtual worlds such as Active Worlds and Second Life have already begun to integrate very active educational environments (such as those referred to here : http://www.vlearn3d.org/collaboration/index.html ), but with the many awesome new capabilities coming to us all here as Caligari breaks exciting new ground in 2008, there will certainly be a lot more people here following your footsteps in similar directions now.
I wish you the best in the coming year guy. It looks already to me like it will be a very good one for you in shared space educational setting development work, and as more folks here begin to see the educational potentials for shared space which you have already long seen, I believe you'll be finding a lot more help coming your way so hopefully your work in all this will become a bit easier accordingly.
Thanks for being a trailblazer Paul and best wishes for a great new year.

Aww shucks, you'll make me blush but I have been an educator for some time with an interest in virtual worlds since my dissertation in 1993. However, it is the work of Caligari and the incredibly talented individuals on these forums that have helped me put into motion the idea of the virtual classroom for my own teaching. I can take no credit there and Hemulin deserves a thank you for being my only student brave, foolish or talented enough to go in there with me. Unfortunately I have been too busy to pursue this of late but if anyone is interested in populating and developing the cali university and associated spaces then give me a nudge in the right direction (after Xmas of course)...:D |

Well the applause is deserved by you and Hemulin and Caligari then.:)
I will definitely make some time myself to help you in the months ahead on this and I'm absolutely certain now after already having rather heavily discussed Community outreach here at the new Sunday immersive scenes marketing meeting that there will be quite a few folks ready and willing to lend you a hand in it all this springtime too.
Have a great Holiday time and drive safe guy, this year ahead will be great!;)
