I like to as well congratulate the winners. This is my personal opinion and then again who am I to be a judge in choosing the winning image. (you may say I hardly participate and even use ts) but I feel the runner up image was far deserving of winning image.
Then again they are all winners.:jumpy: |

S'funny you should mention that. I checked the gallery page before it went live (went to Nov gallery and changed nov in web address to dec) and the winners were in fact the other way around....strange eh? |

I think the Dec winner was chosen on the basis of being 2008 and a new year.
You know it is almost impossible to say something without offending the other person. But this was the issue ever since back in version 3 of TS. I never could understand on what reasoning they would choose a winner.
Also I feel the same way for the NOV gallery, the runner up should have been the winner. |

The winning image is superb, congratulations. But personally, I think Paul's image of the boy floating over the lake is truly amazing and would be my winner this month. |

It's that time of the month again - it happens periodically - when we are once again reminded that everyone is looking for different things when determining their choice of 'winner'. ;)
The selected winner was a good choice from a marketing perspective - artistically the runner up was my winner closely followed by Flavios war memorial scene.
Personally, I think anyone using trueSpace is a winner - it's just a good. nay, a brilliant piece of software!! |

Nice to see a toon sensibility at the forefront. Good on ya Emmanuel and Daniel. Paul may not have won but his toon illustration is very cool also. |

Just for the record guys, I have submitted several images from my 'Little Cloud' project to the gallery. I even won a prize with one of them and now I just submit so as to keep somewhat regular with my WIP's. Some great work in the gallery this month and I am honoured to have got an image in the gallery again. Some visitors just visit the gallery and then maybe contact the artists they see there. I am working on a nice contract at the moment as a result of just that. Winning isn't everything and I would be somewhat disappointed if Caligari chose another of these to win. Random visitors might then think the gallery is a bit of a 'one man band'!
More diversity and style is needed in the gallery not just the regulars, that way visitors will be made more aware of the talented people using tS out there.
Oh and well done to all those in the gallery this month. Thanks for the kind comments as well. |

You're right, Paul, winning isn't everthing. An honourable mention can put a smile on your face too :). I had an entry in the gallery but didn't get picked though I think I know why, it contains a lot of old work in the image even though I did achieve a new goal of working with glass in the image. Still, I've had two honourable mentions in the past and they both really cheered me up. |

Hey I noticed that the Artwork in Caligari's Monthly Gallery is being sent over to Renderosity's Gallery also. Really a great idea for creating greater exposure for the Artist and the Company. |

FWIW I always consider selection for the gallery to be a 'win'! I've had multiple offers of work (although only one actually came to anything) from the exposure my artwork has had in the Caligallery - so for me it's about getting my work seen more than anything else. Actually winning a 1st or second prize is certainly a bonus but for me it's about being selected.
Congratulation to all tjhe artists who were selected and also to those who didn't get selected but had the gumption to give it a go. |
