Manual, chapter 3, Modelling in Workspace, page 108, Painting with a Bitmap Brush.
Depicts a panel called DM Brush where you can load in an image to use as the displacement.
But where is this panel? I've left clicked and right clicked every icon and area of the Displacement Brush panels without success. If this is meant to pop open when you select the Displacement Brush tool, it's not doing so for me. I've tried searching the forums for an answer but can't find one. |

Hey Paul
You have to have your panels tab clicked in the stack. Then right click the displacement brushand a displacement brush panel should open there. Check custom profile, then ctrl double left click the top square and the window to load your image will appear.
Hope That Helps |

Thanks, 3DFrog, got it :).
Just curious, though, why do we need to hold down CTRL to access the load image panel? Wouldn't just double clicking the image area do? |

For some reason, Workspace has been designed from a geekiness viewpoint.
Turning left three times in order to make a right turn sticks in my craw as well. :)
Why they haven't made the interface from an artist point of view first, then a techie point of view second is beyond me.
It can be a frustrating interface to work with, if you haven't read all the documents, watched the videos, poured over massive amounts of videos and asked ten thousand questions.
But hey, I like to rant about things that make me work harder than I have to, to get things done. :) |
