Hi all,
Just a heads up that it's only 2 days away til the next TNL! We are taking submissions for anyone who wants to take part in the speed modeling challenege there, or who wants to give a presentation or talk of any sort. Remember, taking part nets you TNL! League points, which can win you one year of proTeam membership, an $895 prize! Someone has to win every quarter, so it might as well be you ;)
Also, if anyone has any ideas on the topic for a speed modeling challenge, I'd be happy to hear those too.
At present this meeting has no set topics or presentations, so all ideas and inputs are welcome.

We'll see you there!
Thanks!

Hi all,
I am pleased to announce that Theuns will be attending to the TNL! tomorrow evening, Jan 17th, to give a slide show presentation about his MAV, and to answer any questions you have about the work.
The thread about it has been fascinating (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=335 (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=335) ) but nothing beats talking to the artist in person :) And I am sure he will be willing to answer more general questions too as well as those specific to the MAV.
We'll see you there!

I will try to get there tonight... I left my PC running a program to make a tuxture seamless this morning. It had been running all night and was at 89% of whichever step it was on... Hope it is done by the time I get home. Seems like moss is a very hard thing to make seamless ;) |

A big thanks to Theuns for his presentation last night. It is great to see an artist use a different technique then your own, it was an education for me.
For those not aware "Thusday Night Lives" is a Global event! Amazing seeing people from all parts of the world attend.
I got knocked out suddenly "lost network connection" but the segment of the evening I attended was great.
I hope you got in Kena, what is your user name there?
Somebody screwed up the lightbox screen last night and it very possibly could have been me! Somebody kept saying I had two blue light beams, what does that mean? (If I was in pe mode are two light beams created?) Sorry if it was me. |

Yes was a good evening all around. Was very interesting presentation. I was most curious with the technique shown. Pictures afterwards were most excellent as well :) |

Sorry you missed it too :( However there will be another TNL! in two weeks, so all is not lost! As yet I have no presentations for that day, but am happy to hear from anyone who wants to take part as always - just mail me at thomas@caligari.com!
It was a great presentation, and my thanks go out to Theuns for that! He mentioned that we could put the pre-prepared text and graphics up, and I will do that early next week, probably on a web page rather than forums just to give it a nicer presentation - feel free to remind me about that if I havent posted it by Tue next week, there's a lot happening and I dont mind a quick "Hey didnt you say this was going live?" type reminder now and then ;)
Theuns discussed a lot beyond that arranged presentation too, sharing a lot of the images of the MAV, ideas behind it, answering all questions like "What kind of gun is that on it?" and any other question we could think up.
I've yet to get the TNL! League scoreboard updated, but this makes Theuns the first person to score points this quarter, getting him off to an early lead!
I am looking forward to the next meeting, we'll see you there!

Theuns did a great job in his presentation of his 3D craftsmanship in trueSpace.
I enjoyed being there, even though Mark was there as well. :D
