Sunday February 3rd - Developers Outreach
Hi everybody,
This coming Sunday we will be having our eighth "Developers Outreach" weekly Sunday meeting and workshop together.
This Sunday will be a very casual meeting and as always everyone is welcome to join us.
During the last two weeks now the DO Teams have been creating a great many project-specific models and scripted interactive objects, so many in fact that presenting them all in one place at one time online is impossible due to their overall combined filesize and the inherent size limits of existing shared space portals.
We have arrived consequently at a decision together to employ a different kind of Sunday DO Portal Scene to portray them all simultaneously along with general information pertaining to the various projects we will be doing together in the months ahead. So this Sunday we will be using a kind of "DO Trade Show" portal scene approach where the scene will be compartmentalized according to the various projects we are undertaking now and in the immediate future.
This will be a "work in progress" so it very likely won't be finished at all by Sunday, but should provide those of us within the DO Teams a Sunday Trade Show scene which we can each swiftly modify to suit our particular needs as they arise.
During the last two weeks we have undertaken a kind of "Modular Approach" to creating our project designs and scripts so that they will be versatile in many types of projects. This new portal scene format is an outgrowth of that same approach.
There are some very innovative things we have already begun to develop together, and I'm very happy to see and to say that the DO Teams are genuinely beginning to define themselves in very effective ways toward very clear objectives, both in individual focus and collaborative effect.
We have also added new members to our ranks this last week, very active and talented ones in fact, and two I believe who are not even members of the forums here which came as an interesting surprise to me at least. Everyone with truePlay or trueSpace can attend these meetings and everyone is of course welcome to.
As far as the work of the Developers Outreach Teams goes though, we will largely only be relaxing together on Sundays now, since we are all very actively working together all week on several types of DO Projects both in shared space and offline as well.
There will always be plenty of room within the Developers Outreach for anyone in this Community to find a comfortable place to participate if they wish to, so drop in and see for yourself what an exciting thing it truly could be for you to join us all.
This coming Sunday we will be discussing together collaboratively the manner in which we wish together in the following week to design, build, finish, and announce (to certain regional prospective Virtual World Host Investors, Advertisers, and Vendors), a Portal Event specifically designed to secure those Design and Server Investments in February. We fell behind a bit in that objective but plan to take it on together starting this Sunday.
As for all of you already in the DO Teams, thank you. Every week you are really amazing me now with the quality of the things you are each creating toward all this and the sheer quantity of them as well. We're all going places very fast together now in all this, and it's definitely one very exciting ride for us each to be on together.
See you all Sunday folks!

I'm hoping to have at least one use-able object to show off this weekend since I'm almost through ch 4 of the manual  |

Excellent, and thanks for hanging in there with us daily guy.:)
If you need any help on anything just say the word, Robert has been going through all those tutorials too lately and definitely conquered them, he's only been modeling for a short time now and his work looks like he's been doing it professionally for years now... we were all pretty astonished by it all in fact. So I'm sure he'd be glad to help and also have all those tutorials fresh in his mind if any of them raise questions for you, just let us know.
See you Sunday if not sooner in shared space.:)

It's about an hour and a half to the meetingtime now and ghost--scout and I are in the DO portal kicking back if anyone is bored and wants to come there early to join us.
I put up a revised version of the tradeshow portal scene a few minutes ago, still a work in progress but conveys the general usefullness of the layout concept.
See you all at 12:00PM Caligari time or whenever you each can get here today,

Well, I don't know about the meetings, but 3DV's appeal for people that were lurking to join the community prompted me to start posting.
After the Microsoft sell out his last post seemed quite deflated and was not heard from again. I don't know if that entails it's own kind of doom or not.
hope bill didn't have him KO'd |
