No cloths plugin.
Most people either model their own, or import from another program like DAZ |

and for animation? no chance for cloth animation? just to ask
I dont think of cloth-plugin. just a particle system what is suitable for this. |

There is always TruParticles. I haven't used it, but I'm sure other people have and can tell you how well it works. What precisely do you want to do? That will help get more specific answers. |

if you want a particle system try one of these plugins:
http://www.primitiveitch.com/pub/
they're all useful to have, ppfx is a good one. |

ppfx is a jewel! but only to make smoke. water particles, fire, bubbles and such.
Only works with Lightworks and render by post process, that means the particles doesn't interact with the envoirment like reflections or shadows.
I been worked with ppfx for loooong time creating demos for crystal fountain products.
Ppfx and Infinity2 and MotionStudio are the best plugins ever maded for truespace |

Particle system for cloth animation?
Cloth animation is moving of vertices and has nothing to do with particle systems.
There is no such tool for ts7 yet.
For earlier versions try clothmotion if you want to animate cloth like objects. |

Hello and Thanks the answer.
I dont plan to do cloth animation nowadays but finally I would like to decide between TS and an other application. I would like to start to learn the CGanimation and I dont choose between two apps. But I am sure that I must try both :) The TS is very fast with V-ray but the other one is most popular. |

You could arrange a skeleton of parralel segmented ribs on the mesh you want to be cloth like.
Paint the vertices in large overlapping gradients.
Now when you move a bone it will make a gentle curve in the "cloth"
You can even give the skeleton physical properties, so that the cloth will conform in a "soft" manner to an underlying solid.
(perhaps a script could be written that would enforce a distance constraint between equivalent nodes of each and perturb the skeleton along a sinewave prior to collision to give a nice inexpensive ripple)
This may not be as easy as having built-in cloth but should give a reasonable result for things like flags, drapes, skirt's, clothes line's etc

And as you state you need to decide on an app, perhaps yesterday's news had had some effect on your decision? |
