I'm sure there are more than a handful of people out there still using trueSpace 5.x and 6.x.

I rely heavily on tS 6.6 and Motion Studio... and now, with the excellent Dribble render solution by Simon Windmill, plan to keep using these tools for a while to come.

I've always bragged on Motion Studio in the past and now feel as strongly about Simon's Dribble plugin. With Dribble, I can get modern, film-quality rendering capabilities (GI, HDRI, Caustics, analytical motion blur, etc) using the familiar tools I've grown comfortable with.

...and I want to get this tool into other people's hands. So I decided to put my money where my mouth is.

The first 4 folks to reply to this post get a free Dribble license, on me.

Please do this only if you do not already have a Dribble license.

I'll check this thread later and send a private message to the 4 winners with further instructions (basically it involves getting your name and email address, sending it to simon, and he will set you up with a download link/license)

ENJOY!

I'm willing to try anything - count me in. I spent my extra money getting Vue esprit, then had to upgrade to Infinite because of my workflow path. If I hadn't had to upgrade, then I was planning on getting dribble to see how it works anyway.

I waited until all 4 had posted, very generous Frank! I do own a copy but have yet to use it but it looks very promising, especially so if you own earlier versions of TS.

VERY kind of you indeed Frank! If anyone has doubts whether the tS community is the greatest community on the web, they only need look at this thread. I haven't seen this kind of generosity on any other forums that I've been on. In fact, I even had to pay for an e-book once just to get a simple question answered on one.

What a fantastic community! Thanks for demonstrating that with your generosity Frank! :D

My sentiments exactly kena!

Thanks Frank - when you're a strictly low/no budget guy like me generosity like this is really valuable and appreciated.

And boy am I glad I got a DSL for my birthday a couple of weeks ago!:D

Délé: It is a fantastic community indeed, and I'm glad to be a part of it. Thanks for the kind words!!!

W!ZARD: You're very welcome! Yeah... it's not fun to leave the T1 at work and come home to 45Kbps. LOL!

Thanks, Jack!

Good to hear the positive feedback!

I enjoy giving - whether it be little tutorials, tips, or whatever I can offer to help. My actions are based on this one Book, which I use as a "field guide" to living. Giving is certainly encouraged. ;)

SiW: Thanks for providing such a top-notch rendering tool at an incredible price!

prodigy: That's enough to make some banana pudding! Wehaaaaa! Thanks!

This is what separates this community from many of the others out there. Great job Frank...Dribble cannot have enough users.

What a guy !!!

I saw this very late and have given dribble some thought in the past. With the recent and assumed future changes in TS/Caligari it's looking more and more the way to go! (I find the current TS/Vray over priced and lacking in function.)

Some time in the next few weeks I will have to throw in my support and get dribble going as well, if anything as a thumbs up to Simon for the past great work he has done and not just this most recent addition.

And most importantly for not giving up on 'us'.

As I think about it all ...it's a classic catch 22. We TS users are a relatively small dedicated group which is a plus in many ways like this very thread, but also a negative as a larger company may not be very concerned with current user reactions as they now re-direct the software. A small dedicated base could/would have to sacraficed to make room for the potential thouosands if not millions of new users.

Some 'old timers' like many of us may feel slighted and down right angry but in the end it's not personal it's business.

I plan to start playing around as soon as I get my 2Delight licence... I downloaded the program, and sent my IP address instead of what they were asking for the first time, so I hope they send me a key this time. ;)

Good on you Frank - what a guy!

As far as dribble goes I think all tS users should get it. The fact that it can be used in earlier versions is fantastic.

Its still only $35 and that's pretty cheap - everyone should buy it. (I'm a fairly stingy impoverished kinda guy but I know a bargain so I bought it when it first came out.)

Sure is! The depth of field is very impressive also. Then there's the displacement mapping. (And don't forget hair and fur are on the horizon for the next release).

Bananas for SiW, Frank and all dribble users.:banana:

So far nothing but various messages on how to make certain parts of my body bigger. I'm hoping that they just don't work on Sundays. If I don't get it by tomorrow, I will contact them to see.
