another update, the protruding ice has been changed, I think it looks better this way. I have also added some particle effects for debris, but not sure whether it looks right, perhaps with some smoke/dust effects added in it will look better, but its hard to get a sense of motion in this image

looks great but still a little dark on my monitor. Maybe a slight motion blur showing its upward motion would help with the sense of it pushing outwards. The other thing that popped to mind was if you could somehow show an earthquake\shaking\double image type effect to the ice\ground. As it stands, the debris flying outward tells the story quite well on its own. |

ok, near the end now, I think its time to move on. However I have a Dilema, after rendering I go to tweak in Photoshop but im not sure out of these which to keep:

I initially liked Version 1 because of the deep blues. After comparing both of them I changed my favorite to Version 2. The snow and ice appear more realistic around the base. Also the blues are more blurred in the sky. Real nice concept start to finish.
Edit: after reading Chester Desmond's response I realized the original was there too.... that's my new pick too. |

Yep, the original. Nah, looking pretty good. Interesting direction you went with the clouds and lighting, very creative and moody.
If you're looking for work to do on it, the transition between the water and ice seems a bit abrupt and CG. Maybe a bit of snow or built-up ice crust right along the waterline? Also the water seems rather still for the violence of the tower thrusting up. Maybe the ripples in the water should be relatively concentric outward from the tower's location?

Some lightning would help, but if you're calling it finished I prefer #2 |

I might add lightning but I would have to do that in Photoshop, not sure how good I can make it look |

Hmm... the cracking ice doesn't seem to match the other ice texture, also seems to take away from the mood... maybe because it's too bright and not blue? Also I think the new water bump might be a bit busy...

I still like the original. I thought the foreground was Ice (not liquid water), at least that's what it looked like to me. I wasn't crazy about your original idea but you turned it into a very nice render.

I think ill keep the origina, Ill add a bolt of lightning I think and maybe ruffen the edges to make it look like an old photo to give it a bit more character, Is there any way of having glowing lightning in TS7? or must I add it in PS? |
