Peter, if you want to render a meshlights with VRay, you must buy VRay for Maya. Because its not possible to done only with current tS7.51 script. You need VRay for Maya because VRayMaya have VRay standalone version with VRay SDK . Then you can write an exporter from trueSpace to VRayScene file for rendering later with VRay standalone. (there're VRayScene file format information with VRay for Maya).

Peter (others too) about scripts copyright; please feel free to make modification on scripts I even post here and you also can complain it as your as long as you give it for free because you got it for free too. :D
Take and give, not just take, take, and take. I mean if you take something usefull from forums, you also need to give something usefull back to forums. This'll save our forums. ops sorry if its sound like global warming issue :D

It seems strange that we're having this conversation again when we had a place to consolidate everything a long time ago and hardly anyone used it.

Dele you are right ! but I think it would be better to just make a thread to the garage and make short link quotes to what is in the garage..... that point to the download files.Sort of like an index. Some of the scripts have even been

posted to the wips.

well to be honest it seems using the Search function for the forums is the best course of action peter. The reason is, each script will do something different, and each creator will use their own terminology. Plus, creating links to all the different scripts will take a very long time.

Dele: I forgot about the library! I thought that was part of your website which disappeared. Doh!

I like trueblue's idea as well. What if we make a sticky link to Dele's library?
Or, what if we have a sticky, which points to trueblue's link, which in turn points to his 'links' page? That sounds kind of like a roundabout solution though.

But what we would need to do with this is, rally the scriptors, and if we do want to get into the habit of using a dedicated repository, have the scriptors review their scripts and update the repository with their information. I think it's just a matter of making a habit of depositing our scripts in that location.

I think Dele's library does what you are referring to Peter; it does have a short text description of the script's purpose... though of course, it's not in the Garage. I think another issue with posting it in the garage or elsewhere in the forums is, the thread will get pushed down the list over time.

That library is actually Xmanflash's and I believe you need his permission to post in it. I think it has been underutilized. Last time I talked to him he was going to improve the site too. Better ways to submit files etc.

No, no...Xmanflash (Pete) and I are two different people. :) Délé is the only alias that I use. ;)

Yeah, Xmanflash runs that website. If you email him, he will likely set you up so that you can upload stuff.
