Ah good point Paul! And if I recall correctly Windows Movie Maker will auto generate a series of stills into a slide show. :)

WMV does give the best compression right now without sacrificing (too much) video quality.

Another free solution is Virtualdub which does a great job converting TS animation stills to AVI format for loading into WMM. If you download Windows Media Encoder, you can use that for more control over the compression. That's what I did before purchasing Vegas.

Without being hit on the head.......again...

Magix rips out videos into picture sequences(into a folder)

with automated numering.

Pictures can not only be composed into a slide show but if you put a sequence of pictures into a folder you can automatically make a movie out of them again or any other pictures you have ..... cool aye!:)

Dunno if it's still available but there was a free offer on Camtasia Studio 3 a while back - a versatile and easy to use option that also allows you to pan and scan across still images to add extra life and motion - Vegas also does this.

I also have it on good authority that Magix is a good option;)!

I have liquid and know that you can create slide-shows but I was thinking more along the lines of a series of images that are a 25/30fps animation.

I imagine liquid would handle those but I've not looked...guess I should.

@TigreStripe:

A quick tutorial would be great :)

Okay, let me see what I can whip up. You mentioned in a post before that you have Pro, which is good as I only have Camtasia 3 on my desktop. I'll keep it basic as once you see how it arranges all of the assets then you will be able to work out the other stuff. After I bought Vegas I tried DVD A and then left it for awhile so I know the feeling.

I haven't used Liquid but I have noticed that most all editors have the same function but liked to rebadge it something else. A good thing about Vegas is that it will integrate with Soundforge Audio Studio or the full on Soundforge. DVD A also integrates with Cinescore to a certain extent, as it applies to soundtrack creation for menus.

And both Vegas Studio and Pro can do animation with images in whatever framerate you need.
