It had some awesome action, a good story, and mind blowing CG. I highly recommend it to everyone here. The art direction for this movie was top notch. Truly a unique look, half anime half CG. Go buy it or rent it right now it's well worth it. To the people that are not into the whole anime thing, just try this movie out you might like it. I think it's vary western friendly and would have done well in theaters IMO. Has anyone else seen it? He does really cool mech designs -- off the wall looking stuff. He's the guy behind Ghost in the Shell. The Ghost in the Shell OVA series has been mixing 2D and 3D for a while now as well, and usually they get Yoko Kano to do the sound track so the music tends to be pretty cool as well. I just happened to stop by the neighborhood video store today and was suprised to see the new one on the new release wall (of course it was checked out). Oh well, I can just go buy a copy tommorrow. Can the soundtracks with Yoko Kano on them still be found in the States? I can't find them here unless I want pirate junk. The story was better than the older one and made a lot more sense and it looked brilliant. I'll probably get 'ex-mechanica' when it comes out over here.
