Ok guys I know truespace does fonts, but here is a neat little program that I used in my Bryce days to do fonts. It has alot of features to adjust belvel and it also has different bevel styles. Over all it is a good free program. In the example it is just a plain text with the rounded edge option...and it does more.

I dabbled with Elefont several years ago and was quite pleased with it as I recall. I vaguely remember it came with a heap of other handy little applications as well.

I think I stopped using it because a lot of what it did seemed redundant to me as I was able to get similar or better results easier using trueSpace and the GIMP.

Please bear in mind that this was many years ago so my recollections could be well wide of the mark.:D

(Edit) It also occurs to me that it may well have been improved since I last looked at it so I'll take another look later this afternoon and get back to you.

I've always thought the trueSpace text tools were excellent, specially when combined with the PE tools.

There is no doubt however that Elefont is a cool little app - thanks for the heads up rjeff.

I've remembered a bit more about this - there is or was another app called Eleblend which did cool things with blending gradients across heightfields IIRC.

If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful text tool with a range of handy built in bevels and chamfers then Elefont can best be described as.....
