In a novel approach Computer Graphics Society is offering a very unique contest.

One of the "prizes" is XSI software if you complete the contest and qualify for the judging.

You get the XSI software just by entering the contest and can use it till June when it expires.

If you complete the project and qualify for judging, you can keep the software.

That's pretty cool considering it's the $3000 version, but it's a non-commercial license. So it's only good if you're not planning to sell your work.

Sounds nice ...howerver I don't have the time to learn a new piece of software in time to complete a challege like that..nor do I have the talent to win that competition.

The rules actually state that you do not need to use XSI for the competition. It seems to be quite open to any tool you wish to use. The rules on accreditation are worth reading carefully. It is like a short course in IP law :D
