I'm sure you guys have heard of the 11 second club. I know that it's been posted about in these forums a few times. They have an audio file that anyone can download each month to make an animation that goes with the audio. This is something I want to participate in using tS as soon as we get morphing and audio support. It looks really fun.

Anyway, every month the winner gets a critique from a professional animator that has been in the business for a while. It looks like they now post those critiques for anyone to watch. They are immensely informative. Well, I haven't seen all of them yet, but I learned a LOT just from watching this months critique. I highly recommend checking out these critique videos for anyone looking to get into character animation. It's free professional eduction. You can't beat that. ;)

Fun to watch a seasoned pro explain the reasons for doing things isn't it?

Thanks, Délé!

This is some pretty valuable information for anyone working in animation! I enjoyed listening to a critique from someone who's been in the industry for many years. Everything he said made so much sense.

I want to offer up another resource from an animator whos work I admire:

Keith Lango's "Pose to Pose" article is well worth reading, but I mostly like his "Principles for LipSync". The way he describes approaching it in an impressionistic manner, instead of hitting every sound... that's just fantastic.

Plus, he's just a nice and accessible guy overall. I've emailed him directly before and received helpful feedback on a short piece I was working on.
