Say folks, what's your favorite gallery entry, from the monthly competitions (stills and animations), and the speed modelling challenges? Heck, even from the WIPs?

Any. Whichever comes to mind.

Just trying to strike up some good conversation here, as well as inspire everyone to get back into it! :jumpy:

OK I'll go first...

In My Most Humble Opinion, this is by Far the Best Animation Of All Caligari Time! :)

Or... perhaps it's just a shameless plug...

Lower left.... hehe!

S'funny, new gallery is up and I love the winning entry. However, the runner up also gets an honorable mention for a close up of that same picture (runner up)...is that right?

Bugatti car is excellent too...:D

That third image won first place Daybe?

Heck, I can create a disk and use After Effects Presets to create the same thing in a few minutes.

Don't see anything special about it, but what do I know about art. :)

I like this month's gallery very much. All entries are excellent and some of them actually tell a story, and this what I like above all.

The meditative pose, the sun's ray of light throught opened window, the book, the rope, the door and the gun above... A Guantanamo psychoanalist would have lots of things to say about Monte Wolford render :p

My favorite of all time would be from a Member here. His attention to details and knowledge of 3D tools is awesome.

This one should have been first place in my opinion. It shows off modeling, lighting, texturing and scene creation skills as a "true Master".
This work is over 8 years old yet can hold it's own today.
He works in the shadows but his talents should not be ignored.

Gnarly question Froo! So many great works to choose from.

I think I'd have to go with Philip Emory's Nude Cellist (http://www.caligari.com/Gallery/ImagesGallery/2000/Nov00/index.html). It was the play of light and felling in those two renders that persuaded me to try trueSpace all those years ago.

Thank you, Steinie.
I appreciate your kind words.

Tough question, picking a favorite from the caliGallery.
When I have a bit of time I'll surf thru and see if I can pick one.

Not sure it did win, I realize that it isn't that complex and quite easy to pull off but I like it. Ah to each his own I guess.;)
