Interesting to see that Daz Studio, which is free, now has an uber shader for $13. It is IBL based and uses 3Delight just like Dribble. Not sure it has any of Dribble's other features though. Images are impressive and must surely be worth a punt if you have Daz Studio.

The guy who made that shader is a bit of a prodigy.

He also coded a plug-in called re-light that works similarly to ipak, but allows you to separate the diffuse and specular aspects of each light as well. Very cool.
I guess I could also use this opportunity to ask for ipak-style multi-layer rendering as a dribble feature request. Definitely getting that plug-in asap.

P.S: It appears this plug-in doesn't support hdr files, only tiff. I don't know how this stacks up to dribble.

Dribble 1.03 does have PSD rendering w/ the different elements in layers. Would that work for you?

I thought 3delight had issues with generating psd files?

However, yes, it would be great. :D

Even better if it outputted a depth mask, but then it's dof is pretty nice already.

1.03 supports RIB export as well.

So does this mean I could potentially open rib scenes in 3delight and add options, like baking?

LOL I have no clue Transient. You'll have to give it a try and let us know. ;)

But it does mean you can hand edit your RIB files to customize them for any RIB render, say for example PRMan :D

Daz Studio has always been free.. and it's always used 3Delight as its renderer. I must confess that I had long thought about developing plugins/shaders for Daz, but then realized that I can't even keep up with you guys ;)

Yeah, the free Daz Studio has a plug-in for PSD layers that can be purchased. Don't know the cost, I got the beta plug-in and haven't tried it since then.
