Needing a beating has worked wonders.

A week ago I had it with trueSpace. I almost gave up. Then thanks to Jack Edwards help and the patience of forum members I stuck in there.

Things still seemed hopeless. Disappearing workspace, run out of memory, slow animation renders, even the screen would shake during rendering, etc.

TrueSpace was working in WinXp 32-bit and 64-bit but not in Vista 64-bit.

Then I thought I would try the 751 demo.

It worked. It was fast on rendering, no disappearing workspace, no shaking on rendering, no out of memory, etc.

So I uninstalled trueSpace 751 and deleted all trueSpace files, including Caligari.ini files.

Reinstalled 751 and WOW!

4X times faster, no out of memory problems, no shaking screen during rendering, no disappearing workspace.

A whole new trueSpace 751.

I had one very bad habit. When trueSpace had a problem that seemed unfixable I would copy over another trueSpace directory, from another location that worked, instead of uninstalling the program.

This seemed to work for a while but it got way out of control.

Now I am back on track and once again having fun with trueSpace.

Great news Mitch! Glad I could be of help. :D

Another useful trick if something's gone screwy with your settings, is to hold down CTRL when you click on the TS icon. That will bring up a config dialog which will let you reset to the default settings.

Learning the LE is a big help as well, since you can at a quick glance see what objects and scripts are in your scene.

That's a good catch Mitch

And easy to miss as long time users most of the time probably has a special folder for all the grphics scenes etc. they're using.

This is also the reason it works for them then ;)

When one hasproblems or doing an upgrade the rule is to delete old folder and install from scratch, just like you did ;)

Keep up the good work!
