I have only just discovered this:

http://www.microsoft.com/esp/

I wondered if anybody new anything about it or whether it may have any relevance in the Microsoft takeover?

Nothing has been said with this respect, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is tied in somehow. Seems tS would fit in with that whole concept. Then again I don't have ESP so I can't say for sure. :p

Looks to me that ESP is based upon Microsoft Flight Simulator technolgy.

It is:

"Microsoft ESP is the platform (engine, tools, and base world content) underlying Microsoft's Flight Simulator X. As platform technology, Microsoft ESP contains a robust set of tools, APIs, and documentation that support code development, content integration, and scenario-building. These capabilities are provided in the software development kit (SDK), and are augmented by some of the same Visual Studio development tools already used by thousands of Microsoft Windows developers. This standardized development approach makes creating and deploying PC-based simulations feasible, consistent, and cost-effective."

I just wondered if the SDK includes a 3D modeling platform?

*Congrats to anyone that got the reference.*
