There are a number of plugins that may work fine on the modelside but it would be best to list the ones specifically that interest you and ask if a) they work in 7.5 on the modelside and b) whether the effect is transferable to the workspace. If its a modelling tool you should be alright if it produces a mesh - if its an animation tool you are probably out of luck.
