I am putting a AVI for a texture and I want to know if there is a way to set up the start and stop frames for the texture. What I mean is this : If the texture animation (avi) is 3 seconds and my animation for TS is 6 seconds, can I have the animated texture only start to play at the 3 second mark?

I'm not sure the answer to your specific question, but you can render the animation up to the 3 second mark, then change the material and render the next three seconds. ;)

In the model side, click the material library icon on left side of screen. (do not use 7.6 material library) and pick the one that says caligari.

Then on top right corner, there is a small triange pointing to right. left click that triange to expand the texture painting tool.

You now see a box with the texture displayed, that says caligari. left click on that to see what textures you may pick from, and left click on that texture box, to set the texture box to desired texture.

Now on your texture paint box at top left corner is a green ball. left click it, and an animation control for texture appears. Click on the red circle to record a texture at the desired key frame. Then where it displays the key frame number, on either side, is some arrow icons. left click and drag on them to adjust the keyframe to what you want. Then left click on the texture box and pick some other texture, and then click on the red circle to record that key frame.

Continue for how many changes of texture you want.

Now paint your object with this animated texture.

Then at top of screen, left click on the play button, and you will see your object displayed with the animation texture on it.

The recorder at top of screen records position of objects, not the animated texture. You set up the animated texture in the texture tools windows only.

click on the red circle of the animation recorder at top of screen, advance its frame numbers by left clicking and draging. Move the object to some other position, and turn it around a bit. Then click the play button.

You now see your object move across the screen, and turns, as the textures change to what you want at the correct frame.

There is a workaround for getting animated textures to work in the workspace side of 7.6 but it uses the LE and is a lot more complicated.
