I luckily just finished rendering a scene out to jpg before TS 6.6 now does not start up at all. I get an error on startup, and it might be because I have some global shaders going or something - but I am hoping it will fix if I reset everything while it is starting up - I guess maybe holding down a key while it is starting will load in the default scene or something? |

Probably need to reboot as some memory hasn't been released for some reason. |

Hold control key while starting tS.
Choose ''Use default configuration." |

Startup Menu
The startup menu (accessible by holding the <CTRL> key while starting trueSpace) allows you to start trueSpace in any real time mode, as well as start a “clean” trueSpace session without automati-cally loading any stored configurations and projects. |

Yeah, I renamed the GLOBAL shaders folder and it worked. It REALLY REALLY doesn't like the CP Bloom shader at all, even though it does a fantastic job. Ok, so I am at a point where I am going to have to use Shader Lab instead, but I haven't the faintest clue where to begin with it. I have it loaded and the correct tss in the material folder. but when I run through the materials, I see quite a few cool shaders, but nothing with a glow or called GLOW. Any help on this? Thanks |

Hi david. One other shader that was guaranteed to freeze my system was the green glass shader, with bumps and such. I forget the actual name but it always killed my system. What's worse though is, I seemed to forget, often, about this problem. Only after I applied the shader and started a render did I remember. Doh! I caught on eventually though...

Odd.
Are you using multiple processors? (http://freecp.sourceforge.net/originfo/coolpowers4/info.html) |

I am running AMD X2 3800+ dual core, so I guess the answer is yes. |

If it's a 'multiple processor screwing up shaders' issue, turn off 'enable multithreading' from the render toolbar, this usually fixes it. The render will be slower but at least it'll work. |

Thanks for that. I am just trying to find another post glow shader in the meantime. I like the look of shader lab, but I think you have to pay for the glow shader. |
