Howdy - Is anyone experiencing difficulty uploading to the forums or is it just me?

I've been trying to upload an animation to the finished artwork forum - it's a .wmv file and at 18 mb it fits in under the forum limit of 20mb for that file type.

I keep getting a message from Firefox saying the page has reset itself.

I then zipped the file - which made almost no difference to it's size - and tried uploading the zip file instead. The page reset itself before the upload could complete.

The broadband option I have gives me download speeds as fast as my line can accept but the upload speed is choked at 128kbps.

Anyone have any suggestions?

It's a timeout issue. I've found that anything over 15 MB won't upload for me. Only option really is to cut the file up using 7Zip then upload the parts, or encode it smaller... :(

Thanks Jack - I recall being frustrated by this issue before.

My solution was to post the file(s) at an online storage site and folks can just download from there instead. I've just posted the links in the Finished Artwork Forum in the thread called WIZITCH INC Animations (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=5478)

If all goes according to plan this should solve the problem nicely.

I'm on 57K modem so I have time out problems with posting over 200K or so here.

Here's what I did to fix that. I FTP'd the files to the ISP that handles my email and private website (http://www.zianet.com/fmiller). I have no time out trouble there and they allow 30mb of stoarge. Then I posted the files here from that location and then deleted them from there. That posting occured very quickly at ISP to ISP super speed.

Clever trick! Thanks for the suggestion. My solution using the File Sharing Service seems to work fine for now though si, working in the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' principle I think I'll just run with it as is.
