Back to an architechtural theme. Threw this together in an afternoon. Based on a photo of a hotel somewhere. Bit of work to do yet. Trying for realism.

Wonderful image Chris, very nice details, nice mood to this image. The tile is a bit grainy for my taste, but not a big deal. Some slight bump map on the columns may help as well maybe even a bit of color variation in spots where dirt would collect. Still that being said it looks great!

Cheers Dave. I agree about the tile texture, it didn't turn out the way I wanted, so I'll be changing it. I'm going to add some fluting to the column using a bump map, and I'm going to add some details such as chandeliers and a few peices of furniture.

Looks good Chris. The lighting is very nice. Maybe its me but the one thing that caught my eye were the plants. I'm not sure why but they look a little out of place. Other than that, looks great.

Looks great, though I preferred the lighting in the 1st 1.

This looks awesome Chris, the tiles worked out great and I like the new plants and the women in the background. I noticed there is a bit of noise in this render that wasn't there previously.

Hay Chrisj!

As always ... Wow!

I like the unobtrusive human touch in the mid distance. It seems to give it that photo realistic touch!

Your second tile texture works much better than the first.

... architectural detail is excellent!

A big improvement Chris. The plant pots are much better and the girl in the distance adds a little mystery to the scene.

Visually appealing to say the least. Ceiling, doors, floor, and background looks finished but not the columns. The material looks fake to me with no variation.

I'm really happy with the tiles myself. You've got to love that glossy shader in vray. There's still a bit of noise in this render, but I'll up the quallty when I get to the final version. Pity we can't post larger images here, as detail gets lost when the images are resized. The lighting is the same in both images, HDRI and one infinite light for the sun, but I increased the canopy beyond the postion of the camera, so less light falls on the front columns. I'm not going to do much more here, as I like the clean whitewashed rendered surfaces on the columns. It's a posh place, so they can afford to keep it clean. I may add a little gloss to the paintwork though, as it's currently matt white.

Any additional feedback very welcome.

Cheers

Chris

Looks much better than the first one. I really like the tiles a lot, and the handles on the door. They just seems to stick out a bit.

Fair point about the door handles. It was in the back of my mind too, but wasn't sure until you mentioned it corbly_digital. This is what posting a WIP is all about. Thanks

A grand bit of architecturals like that needs a custom floor. The 'tiles' need to be placed to fit the columns, or maybe the columns to fit the floor, either way they should work together. Like this:

Very nice work. It looks exactly like the type of hotel that would be far too expensive for me to stay in!

looks great! Maybe add some color variations to make it seem more realistic. Also, it might do well with some light coming out of the lamps? Either way, nice work!

The 2nd Image is outstanding.

You have a realy good feeling in architectural modeling - texturing and lightning.

Another beauty - I love this architectural work you do. I'd be tempted to dirty it up a little, the odd crack or cobweb, a few wind blown leaves maybe, just to give it a slightly weathered look - but that's probably because I'm somewhat slightly weathered myself!!

Good work Chris
