Hello all
I run a hash a:m models store. It is not a success financially but people come for the free models offered mostly. Some of my vendors have sold some things though.
Here is how the store looks:
www.3dfrogstore.com
I was wondering if people would be interested in a store like this for truespace resources where people could sell stuff cheap or give them free. I have web space and a paypal business account and everything and the store is easy to set up. I could have it up quick.
If people seem interested I will do it. The vendors will get 80 percent of the sale like my a:m store. No other store offers that.
Any ideas for store names? |

I think this is quite a good idea. I'd be interested to know how much activity you get regarding people buying stuff. |

I agree with Hemulin that this is quite a good idea. Speaking for myself, someone who prefers big animation projects involving lots of detailed scenes, I would be quite happy to pay a small fee for a few well made models if it allowed me to crack on with the project. In addition, if I required a model beyond my current technical ability, it could facilitate a process where I "outsource" the construction through the trueSpace community. |

Just thinking out aloud here and continuing on from what Breech Block said, you could have a requests section so that so that people can post requests for models (possibly for their projects) and then modelers can either make a model specifically for the person that requested it, or post (and model if they haven't already) a generic model that can be uploaded to the site and be bought by anybody, hence increasing the amount of resources. |

Well that's 2 votes yes, I should have posted an interest poll. I think it's a good idea too. I could include a little forum with model requests too. I may just do it and see what happens. It's not too hard to set up. I bet lots of people have models sitting on their hard drives that they might as well put to use. Any ideas for names? |

Sounds like a cool idea, Froggy :-) I know at least one modeler who would definitely enjoy modeling for market even at modest prices.. I'll point out this thread to him. :D
.... and I'm sure if you get it started there will be many more ^_^ |

Planning is under way. I bought the domain www.truesourceshop.com. I wanted just truesource but it was taken. So trueSource shop it is. I will set up guidelines for submitting your models and stuff soon.
Here is a banner I worked on. Want it simple and clean. What you think.
Thanks butter, spread the word. |

Good idea 3Dfrog! :)
I've been meaning to set up a way to sell my stuff online, but I haven't had the time to set it up. It be great to be able to use your site to sell products. Let us know when you figure out what your commission fees are going to be. I may have a (hopefully to be popular) add-on ready when 7.6 is released, and Parva has his shader pack. Maybe he and others will want to sell that through your store as well. You could be come the new TS store like Primitive Itch was. ;)
Don't forget to post a link in the Business section of the forums. |

Hey jack,
commision will work the same way as my other store, 80 percent goes to the artist, 20 percent goes to truesource shop.
Yes, of course plugins and materials and everything truespace will be welcome.
I am going with agora cart on this one, it seems easy to manage, I have to pay a little money to set up my paypal ipn with it, I think it will be worth it though.
Thanks guys for your support :)
I already started setting up the shop, I will be taking submissions soon. |

I have some slightly used socks I need to get rid of Frog.
Think I could post them up on your Website? Slightly stained from a few leaking warts and fungus treatments, but other than that in perfect condition. |

The trueSource shop is now accepting submissions. Although, it won't be open for business until sometime next week when I get my agora cart booster pack. Please visit the site and follow the guidelines in seller info.
www.truesourceshop.com
I will post in the business section about this. |

What a great website. Thanks very much for going through all that work. Looks like I may want to purchase a few things later on. On your free items will adhere to your note about not distributing items without your consent. Your nuttybot and crazy bird characters are excited about the new website:banana:
See example.

Nice Matski
If you feel so inclined, just a few suggestions. It should say trueSource Shop I think because there is already a domain truesource.com and I want people to get used to seeing it say truesource shop so they can remember the url easy. If that makes sense. Also the word truesource should be all lower case except the S, so it is easily recognizable as a trueSpace related store. And if the brought to you by 3dfrog and buy sell trade could be non bold easy to read font.
If you feel like it you can do those things and I will use it. Or if you have the psd file compatible with cs2 I can fiddle with it. |
