Overview : Microsoft Update KB951748 is known to cause loss of internet access for ZoneAlarm users on Windows XP/2000. Windows Vista users are not affected.
Impact : Sudden loss of internet access
Platforms Affected : ZoneAlarm Free, ZoneAlarm Pro, ZoneAlarm AntiVirus, ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware, and ZoneAlarm Security Suite

Hey thanks for this, noticed this happen to me the other day, took a bit to figure out zone alarm was blocking all internet traffic for me. |

Move Firewall/Internet Zone Security slider to 'medium' level to regain access, then download the patched version of ZoneAlarm.
Although if your access is broken by the MS patch I'm not sure how you're going to read this! |

When I ran several computers, I ran one on Norton's, one on Zone alarm and another on McAfee.
Out of the three, I had the most problem with Norton's, so stop using it.
I made sure when I made a purchase and downloaded, I would put the download on a drive different from the location where it was going.
That way, I always had a backup (along with DVD burns) that wasn't on the computer running the software. |

thanks all of you. yes.. if the person doesn't have internet access he might have a phone and a friend who got the info from y'all.. yay.
hultek43 is working on it hope he'll be successful... I was so happy to find the info.. he's been out of touch for several days, poor guy.
