Just in case their are any other gimp users here, I just thought I'd give you a heads up to a cool fork of gimp called Gimphoto. It's kind of similar to gimpshop, if your familiar to that, but much better imo.


You can also install a plug-in for gimphoto from the same site called Gimpad that resolves the multiple-toolbar annoyance.


However, be warned. You should install this after completely uninstalling gimp and deleting, or hiding, your custom brushes and preferences folder (in documents and settings). It won't work properly if you don't (gimp automatically looks for them on install). You can also install it on a separate windows identity, but that's more of a hassle.


Anyway, it's really good imo, not perfect - but it makes gimp far more like Photoshop.

Thanks for the heads-up - I have just normal Gimp 2.4 right now... looks like I need to go get some plugins!
