Since we now have a plug-in SDK with 7.6. I'm sure plug-in developers would like to know what it is you guys REALLY want.
So here's a thread to post your plug-in wants and wishes! :D |

@3dfrog,
I'd done some thinking about how to implement a wave display. I think something as simple as being able to set an offset and then have the portion of the waveform within the current frame range display with a red line showing the current frame position would be a huge help.
LOL, not that I'd have the time to work on anything like that anytime soon with all the other projects I've got going, but shouldn't be too hard to implement.
Of course a full fledged sequencer type window that could render out a W64 or MP3 file to match the image sequence that TS creates would be awesome. :jumpy: |

I would like a blender fluids importer. I would also like a "make 6.6 interface" button for workspace. |

LOL Peter. And it's coming soon as I get the FBX import/export working. A lot of the work should transfer over, too. |

Dam!
I had a zillion ideas for plug-ins.
But this free version of tS has short-circuited my brain!
Too much papaya juice and I need to double wrap my ice cream!
See what I mean!
ummm...
After Effects Plug - in (saves in RLF or other friendly formats)

Hi transient. would you rather have a blender fluids importer, or just do it in truespace? I'd rather do it in truespace.
That is my primary target for SDK development. The El'Beem library is a standalone library; I have looked over the fluid sim code in blender and intend to port it.

If you could get this working in truespace, I promise never to complain about the interface ever again. :)
Just in case you needed any more incentive.....;) |

Cool! I'd like to put it on my resume; ported fluid simulator from blender to truespace. And bring along a CD as part of my portfolio. :D
It would be quite cool. Do I understand the math? Hell No. :D
But I can port it. :D |

I second the After Effects plugin that jamesmc mentioned. It would be killer to be able to export camera data from TS into a format that AE could use. This would really open the door for live video/3D integration.
Ever see those new-fangled movies that use 3D special effects? (like every movie made since Terminator 2). :D :D :D

EDIT: BTW, where does one get a hold of said plugin SDK? |

@ iBrent, the SDK is currently only available to the beta team, but as was posted in another thread (by Tom I think) it will be made available for download soon. |

For those of us who have no idea, it might be useful if you could give us an idea of which older plug-ins can still be used with 7.6. I guess this may be a long list, but presumbaly there's a batch of plug-ins that still work in the model side, although presumably there are a number that are known to be problematic. For a (soon-to-be) newbie to 7+, I've no idea of what may or may not work in any version above 5.1.... and I'm still occasionally opening 4.3 for a few plug-ins that don't work under 5.1!
But then, I guess a bunch of the older plug-ins pre v7 are made obsolete by built in functions in the newer versions? Crikes, I've got so much learning to do now! I'm going to have to spend so much time re-learning the programme that it might be ages before I produce anything! |

I think their may be problems with motion studio, but every 6.6 plug-in I tried with 7.5 seemed to work okay. |

Thanks Transient; not even knowing what plugins are available for 6.6, I'm going to have to start doing some looking around...
One thing I would like would be a decent (customisable) greeble plug-in (see discussions in Rayman's 'outer space' thread in WIP section... |

sorry lol, but I really wan to be able to import realflow animations, I cant see it being too hard because the software cache's polygonal data for every frame of the simulation, all the plugin has to do is convert the data to something truespace can read, and also put into order. |

I'd really like a vegetation/plant generator, like XFrog. I always say that a house isn't a home until it has my leafy friends in it. In the same way, some *good quality* plants in a an architectural rendering make a huge difference to how believable it is. |

I don't know whether these already exists, so apologies if they do - some form of 'proxy' plug-in, where you can use substitute objects for your scene set-up that get replaced by the more detailed version at time of render.
Also an 'instancing' type tool where you could replace multiple copies of an object (or mutliple objects) with a new object of your choice... |

Modeler/ 6.6 has the global (and interactive) replace tool. I think these are close to what you're looking for. There's no 3dsmax xref type function or plug-in that I'm aware of. |

While you're waiting you can use your navigator in Virtual Earth and take a spin around the virtual globe. :D |

Not just for me but to make it popular in the virtual house and props building
community a Sketchup and a 3dm importer would make it realy
widespread !
Thats just my 2 cents ...
If youve ever used Sketchup and Moi3d together with Truespace you
will know what I´m talking about !
Multiple instancing using components etc. and getting realy high poly counts in scenes like up to whole cities and for free..
Something that only works with highend coputers normaly !;)

This is not a bad idea at all.
I still can't quite get the Cacophony plugin to work in tS6.6 (as far as sync is concerned), so I do lipsync in Magpie and export to exposure sheets. The exposure sheet is used as a "map" of sorts (just like in classic animation) whereby I follow along and hit the mouth shapes in MultiMorph or whatever method I'm using at the time for the mouth animation.
Having something that works within trueSpace - and is frame accurate - would be really nice. |

I would like to see a working Blitz3D (B3D) importer/exporter without needing Milkshape or other. |
